Get your Tom Cruise Top Gun groove on because up for sale from my private collection is my 1985 Kawasaki Ninja 900R with only a little over 10k original miles it’s sure to turn heads at any local classic bike meet . With the iconic Kawasaki 900 cc engine that defined an era of sport bike motorcycling this bike is powerful and ready to hit the open road. Plastics are a bit for ware, it is 39 years old after all, but she’s all there and all original ! paint is good a shows real well as pictures don’t lie . Runs perfect and a recent oil and filter change brake and coolant flush as well as new tires front and rear with new battery will ensure many miles of worry free use . The vehicle is sold as-is and does not include any existing warranty. The bike has a clean vehicle title in my name and would make a great addition to any motorcycle collection. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of history with this 1985 Kawasaki Gpz900 R thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
Looks like a nice example of an early Ninja. We have not seen this color combo very often on the market, nor was it seen it very often back in the day. Dan did cover one here on RSBFS back in 2013 and reader Scott commented, “I still have my 1985 900 Ninja ZX900A2, purchased in the spring of 1985 – mint condition, all original paint, no dents or scratches… but a number of modifications that are all period correct and some up grades like mirrors from the A8 models that you can actually see more than your elbows with and the A8 control pods to get push to cancel signals… SuperTrapp pipes with 12 plates, Nexus header, Lockhart Lowers, Lockhart Clip Ons ( 1″ lower than stock) Zero Gravity Windscreen, Corbin Gun Fighter saddle, 1000 Ninja Carbs, etc… it’s a mid eighties time capsule and over 45k on her. It does not get ridden as much any more as an accident would be pretty devastating – none of the body work is available any more at all unless you are willing to get things shipped in right from Japan. It does still go like hell and rewards an aggressive rider.”
Always great to hear gear talk from readers.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

This will probably do well. They don’t come up for sale very often and especially with low mileage. The plastic is repairable and the side covers come up often enough on ebay. Too bad it’s in NY as that’s a good 3000 miles from me, otherwise I’d be tempted to make a go at it. I’ll guess this one will approach $10K.
Always nice to see another relatively unmolested A2, wish my original pipes were as well preserved as these. The mileage is exceptionally low, and yes, not the usual colour scheme.
