RSBFS
Donn found one of these on the market back in 2020 and posted it here on RSBFS. “The CBR900RR was legendary Honda designer Tadao Baba’s masterwork, and up-powered a supersport-sized chassis, while doing everything possible to limit weight and centralize mass. There wasn’t really a racing class for the Fireblade, but the 122 hp and 454 lbs. wet weight turned the win-on-Sunday-sell-on-Monday paradigm on its ear. Seemingly out of step design choices like the longer stroke engine provided a great torque signature, and forks were conventional but an imperturbable 45mm. More in step was the 16-inch front wheel, which eased turn-in. Innovations like the swiss-cheesed fairing areas allowed the Blade to slice through the air at least in theory.”
This Fireblade is a time-capsule with the purple and yellow coloring. That said, the color scheme always affects the value and most of the sales I was able to source were white/black/red. I did find a similar bike in this color scheme that was listed here on RSBFS in 2011 for $4,000. How much has the value increased in 13 years? This is the game we choose to play.
Good luck to the buyer and seller. With no reserve, this should be fun!
I honestly don’t remember this color combo. It looks OEM. I also feel like Honda did a 1994 CBRF2 the same way. But looking at this I have deja vu, just maybe from a parallel universe. Because I feel so certain, neither existed. At least, not in the states anyway. Maybe just my age getting the better of me. Kinda like someone letting me take their non-GP Shift streetbike out for a track session… weird happens..
This is a 100% OEM color scheme from a 1994 U.S. based version of this bike. Yes, the F2 also came in this livery as well.
Is it just me, or is the bike skipping right at the beginning of the drive by video? Doesn’t sound normal at low rpm.
Yes, it’s not right at low rpm’s and I heard it back fire when he downshifted. Most likely a blocked idle circuit, vacuum leak, or maybe carbs way out of sync.
