For Sale: 1986 Suzuki RG500 Gamma
RSBFS readers have been pretty rabid about Gammas. You only need to run a quick search on RSBFS to see how many we have posted and to view all of the comments we get on these bikes. And what’s not to like? GP-inspired good looks, sharp-handling aluminum frame, premium suspension components (for the day) and a stout square four two stroke power plant good for just over 90 horsepower – all wrapped up in a tidy 350 lb package.

If you are looking for an updated RG500 that has not been cut up or permanently altered, this is a nice example. This bike can be easily be returned to completely stock or ridden as is. I have approximately 10 computer sized boxes of original and extra parts that go with the sale of the RG.
Not a lot of photographs from the seller, but there is a pretty full list of mods and add-ons here. Sure there will be the purists that only want stock, but let’s face it: after 25 years of technology and advancement, there are some new opportunities that can help make even the best vintage bike better. In this case, there are plenty of reputable Gamma gear heads to help with the process.
This bike is available now, and is currently titled in Oregon. With only 13k on the clock, some tasty performance bits and what sounds like a ton of spares, you should definitely check this one out. Gammas don’t come cheaply, however. The current bid for this bike is around $5k with reserve still in place; the BIN is set for a cool $16,000.
