You are bidding on a used 1997 Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle with 15,421 miles in very good condition. Bike was traded into our dealership a few years ago with our intention to do some minor misc maintenance work and give it a good shine before putting it on our showroom floor to sell. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards we decided to downsize our operations which involved some major moving of offices/service dept/showroom/etc so with the lack of free time & other previously started projects in our shop, we had to put the GSXR on hold for a while. During the pause, the bike was stored inside in a controlled temperature room so the paint is not bubbled or cracked, minimal rust or corrosion on the chrome parts & pieces, all lights are intact, wheels are straight, and much more. Fast forward to 2024, we are finally catching up and were able to do the minor work needed and make sure the bike ran as well as it did when it arrived in our store. Bike is complete and original as shown except for a K&N air filter, D&D exhaust, aftermarket rear signals, and a new battery. Buyer will receive a bill of sale and a clear transferable NYS title. Although the bike is currently running, due to its age it will be sold AS-IS with no implied warranty.

Ahhhhh… the Gixxer. We have had the honor of covering these bikes on RSBFS over the years and Mike did a great write-up of one in 2015, “1996 was a “get serious” year for Suzuki’s iconic GSXR-750. The early 90s had seen Suzuki losing ground on the racetrack and in the dealerships to Kawasaki’s ZX7 and Ducati’s 916. The 1996 “SRAD” was a completely new bike, with Suzuki abandoning their classic cradle frame and going to an aluminum twin spar frame and wrapping it in sleek new bodywork. The frame and the appearance of the new GSXR were both based off of Suzuki’s RGV500 GP bikes and the results were stunning. A weight loss of nearly 75lbs and a new high revving engine now featuring a ram air setup pushed Suzuki back to the front of the class.”

RSBFS Reader, Riot, commented in 2015 that, “A 90’s SRAD that hasn’t been crashed and rashed is indeed a unicorn. The low entry-price of such a bike means that most have been less than lovingly maintained if not wadded to oblivion outright.
There are probably fewer pristine SRADs than similar-era 916-995-996s available today, simply because most of the Ducatis survived. Restoring an SRAD with OEM bodywork to this level would certainly put you in 916 price range as well.

OMG, I am shocked by the selling price. Unless there is something fundamentally wrong with the bike, that’s a deal for a rider quality bike. I figured it was going to sell for more. This is less than I paid for my last beater trackbike. Good luck finding a road worthy one at this point. I haven’t seen one around in a decade or so. . Fortunately for my garage space, I don’t do streetbikes anymore.
