While searching for reviews I found this article on Visor Down titled Living with a 2001 Triumph Daytona 955i. The author is a motorcycle dealer that was given the 955i for one year to test. The article takes you through a full year of commuting, country rides and even a few track days on the Daytona 955i.
“… the 955i and me have had a good time of it. We covered nearly 10,000 miles commuting up and down motorways, thrashing around country lanes and even took in a couple of track days. One of the best things about riding the 955i Daytona on the road is that because of its relative ‘lack of power’, compared to other 1,000cc sports bikes, you can ride it really aggressively without feeling intimidated or defeated by its sheer performance as can be the case after a spin on a GSX-R1000.
All in all it’s been a year of completely trouble free biking, just one service, one set of tyres and not a spill or even a puncture to moan about.”
Seller:
I call the bike TinMan, and the restoration ‘Project TinMan’. This is a low mileage 2001 Triump Daytona 955i that was a project I took on in late 2021, early 2022 going into late pandemic phases and I needed a winter project. The bike was laid down by it’s original owner and left in my friends garage for 12 years, I bought the bike from the owner and spent all of winter 2022 restoring it to a loved condition. Title is clean and in hand, 4,159mi on ODO.I am selling because it was a project, and I am 45 and have a BMW touring bike that I much more enjoy riding, haha. Need to make room in the garage for something else.

- Driver foot-peg underneath has rash, not visible in riding position
–All of the cosmetic issues are covered (hidden within) in a vinyl scheme I came up with to decorate over them vs expensive repainting, etc.. All of the carbon fiber look and red accents on the cowl and the TinMan logo are removable custom vinyl (if you’d like to remove for painting, etc).
No Check Engine Codes, the only thing I can’t figure out is the the low fuel level sensor light on the dash stays on all the time, I installed a new low fuel sensor from Triumph (have receipt), It was something I was going to ask a dealer to see if they could resolve, or possibly the light in the dash needs to be incandescent vs LED for the circuit to work correctly.
