Cafe racer with original paint
The V50 Monza is powered by a transverse V-twin engine, which is a trademark design of Moto Guzzi. This layout not only provides a unique appearance but also has an impact on the bike’s handling characteristics and performance. The longitudinally mounted engine with shaft drive is a distinctive feature that some riders love.
Seller:
It has its original beautiful unrestored vintage red and black paint with patina. It runs very strong with a 500cc V twin, a true factory-built cafe racer. The bike is excellent handling, very light and easy to maneuver.
The Monza is very pretty to look at, unbelievably fun to ride and it handles like it is on rails while riding through the tight twisty turns. The Monza is known as the Baby Lemans, only 100 were sold in the United States, extremely rare. The Monza has a Connecticut title that is clean in the seller’s name.
RSBFS:
The cafe racer style is always cool to see. When you combine that styling with fun to ride, the scenario goes up a few notches. Now, adding original paint to the picture and we are talking about something to share with your Guzzista friends.
For me, the cool thing about this bike is the drive train. I’d love to feel what a Guzzi feels like when twisting the throttle.
One of these was reviewed on RSBFS by Mike in 2019 and it sold for $6,328.
A white 1983 Moto Guzzi Monza out of Quebec was reviewed on RSBFS by Donn in 2017. As Donn states, “In the late 1970’s Moto Guzzi created a line of smaller-displacement machines based on the classic 850 Le Mans, and though they have largely been forgotten, they’re still a great lightweight – especially for fans of the marque.”
This seller is asking $6,700 and it’s posted on Craigslist in East Lyme, Connecticut. If you know any MotoGuzzi fans on the east coast, send them this link – and if you have ridden one of these models, please share your experience in the comments. Every review I’ve read says they are super fun to ride, so I’d love to hear if this is true.

Had the original, unfaired bike for many years. This is THE BIKE to make you think you’re a good rider!
@Geroge That gives me one more excuse to ride!
