The Suzuki TL1000S has earned its place in motorcycling history as one of the most distinctive V‑twins of its era. With its radical chassis design, fuel injection, half-fairing, unmistakable character and cult status, it stands apart from the typical street bike of its time. At the heart of it all is Suzuki’s legendary 996cc V‑twin—an engine celebrated for its explosive torque, addictive mid‑range punch, and mechanical personality that still feels special today.
This particular bike has been well-maintained by its current owner of 20 years, kept in excellent running condition, and treated with the respect a bike of this pedigree deserves. If you’re looking for a machine that blends raw performance with genuine uniqueness—and one that’s ready to ride now—this TL1000S is a rare find.
Includes:
– Dual Yoshimura RS-3 exhaust
– Power Commander 6
– Bitubo rear suspension
– Billet aluminum clutch and sprocket covers
– Pillion seat and monoposto cowling
– New Dunlop Sportmax GPR-300 tires
– Rear paddock stand

If you haven’t noticed, Red is a classifieds guy and he loves Craigslist. It takes daily discipline—and maybe a little obsessive scrolling—to find the bikes that aren’t over-inflated, posted by real riders ready to pass on a chapter from their book.
Back in 2023 we saw a similar 1997 Suzuki TL1000S on BaT —same model, a few more miles, and finished in red. Today’s example? Black, 15k miles, and listed on Craigslist for $2,900.
That feels like a great number—but as always, condition and maintenance history are everything.
The best part? You can actually call the owner, have a conversation, check out the bike in person, and land on a price that works for both sides—no auction pressure, no fees.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
Please drop a comment if you’re able to check it out—and especially if you end up bringing it home.

this is a good deal – someone will get a very good bike at a very low price
Yup, quite the bargain. I had a VTR with the same pipes and rear shock, and they were great upgrades on a similar bike.
