One of many Ducati “Limited Edition” models, the 900 SS Final Edition is indeed something special as it represents the last generation of the Supersport model before Terblanche restyled the line-up. Offering up the same bullet-proof desmo two valve twin, the FE added new graphics and silver paint. There were only 800 Final Editions produced world-wide with 300 coming to North America.

This is a No Reserve auction, and the bike is currently listed at $4,000 with light bidding. That is still below fair money for this bike, so it will be interesting to see where this auction ends up. The bike appears to be well cared for, lightly modified, and has just over 10,000 miles on its Veglia clocks. Check it out here, and then let us know if you prefer this or the next-gen Terblanche era Supersport design.

I dont know what it is about these bikes but to me they just look old
that tail section is really effing nice.
Well, they look old because they are. 22 years old for the original 1992 SS, and even this FE is 16 years old. They sure are a ton of fun to ride though!
Actually, 23 years old from the original ’91. I can recall wishing on the supersports at dealers in the mid ’90’s, even parked next to the lusty 916 series machines. There is just something about them that stirs me. They are a visceral delight, very stable, though admittedly not terribly fast, I still wear a huge grin every time I ride mine. I understand they aren’t for everyone, a fellow commenter even went so far as to equate them to a Ford Taurus in one discussion. Point is, they are a neat motorbike, relatively simple in design and I think they have a great look.
My only reservation with this particular bike is the exhaust. The FE had high mount cans out of the gate, my hunch is this one may have gotten intimate with the tarmac. I cannot fathom a single reason why a solo seater would swap to the lower mount setup, it certainly detracts from the looks.
Agree about the exhaust. It’s a really poor choice for such a nice example 900SS and devalues the bike- F1 slip ons only have one positive thing about them. That is that they’re cheap, cheap, cheap. Cheaply designed and fabricated, hollow/cheap sounding, and cheaply priced. Shame on the seller for even trying to compare them in any way to Termignonis.
A very similar bike sold at Pro Italia in LA a month or two ago. I rode it – a very strong runner. I own a ’95 900SS SP for comparison. It was listed for $6900 and sold in a couple of weeks. It had an Ohlins rear shock and FULL Termi’s system. CRG levers.. This looks closer to stock and stock cans can be found. Seems a good deal – if you’re ok with the blah silver color.
Silver is the only color the FE came in.
Right, I meant 1991.
