1 of 65 in the U.S.: 2007 MV Agusta F4 Senna 1000R

MV Agusta spat out a raft of tribute bikes based on its insane F4 1000R in the mid to late aughts, but perhaps the closest to the company's heart was the F4 1000R Senna, named for Ayrton Senna, the late three-time Formula 1 champion. Senna had been a close personal friend of Claudio Castiglioni, MV Agusta president and father of the Ducati 916 and Monster and the MV Agusta F4 and F3.

The 2007 bike followed a 2002 Senna Edition F4, but was harder-edged than the previous version, and was blessed with a longer list of special suspension and go bits. Like the "standard" F4, the 2007 Senna made 174 horsepower at the crank, which was good for 0-60 in under three seconds, a high-nine-second quarter mile and a top speed within a gnat's eye of 190 mph.

Cosmetically, the bike sported the color-me-obvious grey and red paintwork bearing Senna's name, a contrasting red Alcantara seat and silver forged Marchesini wheels.

Mechanical changes include titanium nitride coating for the 50 mm Marzocchi USD fork, instead of the standard carbon nitride, the Sachs rear suspension is adjustable for high- and low-speed rebound and compression damping and braking is handled by Brembo Goldline monoblocs.

The F4 listed here is in excellent condition, as you would expect from an extremely rare and exclusive bike, and has clearly been stored inside. It has covered 4,700 miles since new, which is actually more than we would have guessed.

Featured Listing: 1,600-mile 1991 Ducati 851 Strada Biposta

Today's featured 1991 Ducati 851 Strada is an excellent specimen of the machine that pushed Ducati from the pages of history and far into the modern era. It was the first bike to rumble out of Bologna wearing Desmoquattro heads and fuel injection and it settled once and for all that Ducatis should be red.

Added to its newfound technical prowess, the 851 was as adept at capturing imaginations as it was at collecting speeding tickets. A spate of race wins didn't hurt, but the bike's purposeful stance, impeccable color scheme, Guns of Navarone sound and dare-to-be-different attitude built an aura that wins alone cannot.

Mechanically, the 851 was at once innovative and regressive. The desmodromic heads on the Pantah-based 851cc v-twin, were from a time before cantilevers had given way to valve springs. But there were four valves per bank, and though it revved low, the engine made great use of electronic fuel injection and high compression to push out about 100 horses. Long after everyone else had moved on, Ducati was making good with rattly old-world technology.

That big, laconic mill was stuffed into the brand's signature steel trellis frame rails and hung with Ohlins suspension on each end, which meant that the 851 was light, flickable and fast, and offered totally different power characteristics to its Japanese competitors. Where the beasts from the East needed to be wrung out past 10,000 rpm to really scare you, the 851 did the job just shy of 10,000, with a rumble rather than a shriek.

This 851 has spent the majority of its 26 years with one owner, covering well under 2,000 miles before coming into our seller's hands. Blemishes on this bike are limited to a few pox on some of the aluminum pieces and some age marks in front of the rear tire. The seller claims it was stored inside its whole life and has never seen rain, and its condition backs that up.

If you plan to ride the bike, you would do well to replace its aged Pirellis. The seller doesn't mention them, but we'd be surprised if they are not the original set.

It is a one-owner bike with approximately 1,605 miles on it (yes less than 2k miles) always stored inside and properly and meticulously maintained throughout its 26 year life. Bike has never seen or been ridden in the rain. You could search long and hard but you will not find one in this condition and with this few miles. I have all documentation from the original dealer invoice, ownership card, original owners manual, two original keys, full shop manual, original race stand, original brochure, and many other documents, articles, magazines featuring the bike as well as all of the maintenance records. Over $2k recently spent on full maintenance by Ducati Dealer. This is a bike that will only go up in value over the years. This bike is a dream to ride and will stand out from all of the other bikes. You rarely ever see these bikes. I purchased the bike to add to my collection and will keep it if it does not sell. Only willing to sell if the price is right. Again, this bike will only go up in value. No rides without cash in hand. Clean and clear title in hand. Bike is as-is with no written or implied warranties. The pictures do not do this bike justice. It is a rare find.

Blade Runner Meets Kraftwerk: 1991 BMW K1

Looking back, it's hard to see any way the BMW K1 would have ever been anything but controversial, with such a heinous striking profile and the infamous Ishihara test livery, but BMW came at its design as only the Germans can: With an eye for both problem solving and pushing the envelope.

The K1 was aimed at pushing BMW into the youth market, catering to buyers who wanted the sporty fairings and race bike queues of Japanese and Italian machines, while satisfying its core group of high-speed touring-oriented buyers.

So, the Bavarians threw a 1,000-cc longitudinal four cylinder at the equation, and then added shaft drive and a single-sided paralever swingarm. The engine was limited by BMW to 100 horsepower, which meant achieving 150-mph autobahn blasts would require aerodynamic trickery.

Enter the now-dated bodywork, which caused either reverence or revulsion, and achieved an 0.38 drag coefficient.

The 1991 BMW K1 for sale here wears the most controversial red and yellow color scheme, and is in very nice condition with a couple caveats. The seller says the ABS was removed when they purchased the bike, though it was supplied with all the ABS parts. They do not say whether it was reinstalled. The digital clock is also broken.

On the upside, it comes with a full titanium Remus exhaust.

Selling My 1991 BMW K1. I purchased this ICONIC motor bike with a great sounding REMUS exhaust system installed. The first for me hearing this type of sound from a BMW motorcycle, Sweet. The ABS System was also removed when purchased. I didn't ask why, but the parts came with the bike. It has a very strong engine and power train that launches the bike effortlessly and the Remus exhaust isn't overpowering with noise while cruising. New battery and tender purchased last year, tender also sold with bike. This BMW K1 is a daily rider and will be sold as such. Starts every time. Display cluster LCD clock not working properly.

The starting bid on this rare and wild beast is $5,500, and with more than six days left in the auction, it has yet to attract any bids.

Road-ready Smoker: Custom-painted 1996 Honda NSR250R SE

This 1996 Honda NSR250R SE wears custom paint, and is ready to ride with new tires and engine fluids. It comes from the extensive Utah collection of Gary, a great friend of RSBFS. The '96 NSRs are a special breed, as the MC28 was the last in a storied line of v-twin two-strokes from Big Red.

The final evolution of the NSR came with Honda's highly-advanced PGM-IV ignition box, which could be tuned using credit-card style chips containing different engine maps. The system also was designed to take inputs from throttle position , gear selection and RPM to build ignition maps that optimized mid-range power, a huge deal on a two-stroke.

The ignition module does have its drawbacks, chiefly that it makes the bike really hard to get beyond the JDM-mandated 45 horsepower limit. There are HRC ignition cards that will do the job, but they're difficult to find, to say the least.

Still, with under 400 pounds to push around and fully-adjustable suspension front and rear, the little rippers acquit themselves admirably, especially for bikes rapidly approaching antique status.

The bike here is in very solid rider condition, with OEM fairings that show very nicely, but do have their share of small blemishes. The seller notes a broken tab on one side and some small chips and scratches on the gas tank in particular.

This little beast is on a no-reserve listing, and has seen some active bidding with a little more than five days left in the auction. It's titled and registered in Utah, so transferring it legally to your home state shouldn't be a huge deal.

Last Great American Hero: 2012 EBR 1190RS Carbon Edition

Before it was clear that Erik Buell's attempts at a comeback after a messy divorce from Harley Davidson would come to naught, he gave the world a string of wild, no-holds-barred open-class sportbikes that only he could have dreamed up.

Bucking convention as was his way, Buell stuck with the v-twin engines that had defined his work under the umbrella of Harley, only on the remix he used Rotax mills that proved to be better at making big power than the heavy-but-torquey plants that came from Milwaukee.

The 2012 EBR 1190RS Carbon Edition was the apex of the brand's technological arc, a moonshot for a company that was rapidly passing the point of no return. It was in the days before AMA SuperBike gave way to MotoAmerica, and EBR was still able to field a racing effort.

Instead of building a homologation bike with racing graphics and a few key inferior parts, Buell built 44 units of the road-going 1190RS with thicker base gaskets, a street-friendly muffler and ECU and retarded the cam timing. That was it. The result was a 175-horsepower road bike that weighed well under 400 pounds without gas.

If you were brave, you could opt for the cacophonous track muffler, which meant the bike tipped the scales at just 397 pounds. With a full tank of gas. And a full charging system. And a license plate.

The 1190 RS Carbon Fiber Edition you see here, the 26th bike in the run of 44, spent its life in a dealership, and the seller alludes to some degree of well-documented intrigue surrounding its story, though provides nothing to back it up.

Whatever the case, it has covered a scant 89 miles over the last five years, and it shows. A video is included in the full description from the eBay listing:

The 1990 Honda CBR250RR name doesn't carry the same room-quieting name recognition that some of its two-stroke and 400cc siblings do, but that is not for lack of trying.

The little CBR is pure early Golden Age Honda: it packs an innovative, uncompromising design with top-shelf kit and fit and finish into a lithe, unintimidating package aimed at knee draggers and commuters alike. The bike garnered a particularly loyal fanbase in Australia, with plenty of gushing reviews and forums to sing its praises.

This particular CBR250RR comes to us from site sponsor Deftone Cycles, and is a squeaky-clean specimen that is ready and willing to show the next owner what the best part of 20,000 rpm feels like. It carries a clean Ohio street title and a set of OEM-look aftermarket fairings.

Deftone is selling the very clean original fairings with the bike, but switched them out for the aftermarket plastics for the sake of preservation and presentation. It appears that one of the original side panels could use a repair, but otherwise the set is more or less blemish-free.

Power for the CBR250RR comes from an inline four with Honda's famous gear-driven cams, which not only reduce maintenance, but give the engine an evil whine unique to Honda sportbikes of the era. The mill is good for 45 horsepower, or about seven more than the modern CBR250RR Honda released in other markets last year, which relies on a 38 crank-horsepower thumper for motivation.

We'll take the '90 every day of the week. Ride to the office, hit the cafe or head to the canyons, and the little CBR will not blink. The starting bid for this bike is $5,200 with nearly a week to go in the auction.
