Previously posted last spring, this Urban Tiger is back on eBay with a very reasonable buy-it-now of $4800. Links updated. -dc
Many a CBR900RR has appeared on RSBFS because it is truly one of the greatest game changing bikes in all of sportbike history. Much has been written about the bike as Honda set the world on fire with a 900cc bike that was the same size and weight as their current 600. Unbelievable.
As for rarity, the CBR900RR was brought to the U.S. and wasn’t rare back in the day. But now it’s all about what has survived intact and original after 18 years. Lots were wrecked and lots were modded, probably by you guys who look at this site now. You know who you are.
Here’s the seller’s info-
This is a rare find for sure, I understand that the color scheme (urban tiger) was never to come to America. 200 units were shipped to Quebec Canada by mistake and riders drove from the US to purchase the body parts and gas tank to convert their own FireBlade’s to the unique color scheme. The bike is crazy fast, great looking and in incredible shape. I have owned a number of CBR’s and fell in love with the look and stance of this bike. The bikes capabilities is beyond my riding comfort level. In its day this bike ruled the track and the road, 124 HP @10k and only 403 lbs.
I really do not want to sell this bike but I can’t afford a 2nd additional bike that I can ride with my girlfriend.
Lastly, you may have seen CBR900RR’s in the U.S. but probably not like this one. The particular paint (urban tiger? hilarious!) on this bike didn’t make it to the U.S. You might think that’s a good thing. I don’t. I think this bike looks awesome. It’s pure 90’s.
So, the seller is asking $7,500. That’s a lot of cheese for this bike. But it is super cool. So it’s up to you. To make your call in the affirmative, check out the auction!

These were official ‘non-accidental’ imports to Canada. Really neat bikes! A good friend of mine had one.
Kind of high for that mileage. I would say maybe 6K would be in line. Most CBR’s of that era go for 2500 to 5000 so a little premium is expected for rarity. Just my 2 cents.
And how about an “un-premium” for the mileage? $7500 is crazy-talk.
Hi Guys
Thanks so much for posting my bike and the comments. Yes the price id high and I am willing to let it go for less on on the condition that it goes to a good home and I can take it for a rip if I am ever in the area, not likely as I like in Canada. I am researching the VFR and CBF’s to see if one would suit my needs.
I would go down to $5,900.00 for any member here with a $200.00 donation to this site.
Thank
Ian MacFarlane
Hey man that was my first New bike 1 of 3 in Atlantic Canada won 3 bike shows n lots of drag races.I could wheelie it 4 miles up to 260kph before the wheel hit the ground. If I were u I tell the grilfriend to live with the passenger pad or stay home put it on a shelf dust if off once or twice a year u won’t get the money your looking 4 people don’t know how rare it is.enjoy
Hi
I like your advice, I need to raise the bars so I can ride longer.
Thanks
Good looking ride that needs a good home.
Never as fast as claimed but the first lightweight big bike. I remember a lot of buyers being disappointed at the lights by the Suzuki’s and Yamaha’s of the day.
most bikes in Canada are overpriced in used condition. Its a 4000 bike with a unique fairing. 55000 km is crazy for a northern climate and negates the rare fairing. I have found bike appraisers at least in Canada give insurance replacement prices not street prices.
Hopefully ian will reveal the actual selling price when his journey is over.
my guess is 4500 cdn
Hey Dave ,
Are you Canadian ? By the way you are talking I have trouble to belive you are . Also it is an International market these days . Sure Canadian prices are lower than say US but you can’t blame a girl for trying ! Everybody wants to get the most loot for their bike , that’s called Capitalism my friend !
Hello there! Do yyou know if they make any plugins to help with SEO?

Hi
You are correct, it was just apprised for $5000.00 US. There is not a single one for sale in all of America for this color scheme, plenty in the UK.
I would trade for a Honda ST1300 or other touring bike.
Thanks
Ian
