Today’s Kawasaki ZX-7R is from an era where literbikes were fast, but also big and heavy, and it was 750cc machines like the ZX-7R that formed the foundation of most World Superbike racers and represented the ideal combination of both power and handling. This generation of Kawasaki’s iconic machine was introduced in 1996 and was built around the 748cc, liquid-cooled inline four you’d expect, backed up by a de rigueur six-speed gearbox. That engine was suspended from an aluminum twin-spar frame, twin-tube ram-air fed the carburetors, six-piston Tokico calipers grabbed the front discs, and the suspension was fully-adjustable front and rear. In spite of liberal use of aluminum in its construction, the ZX-7R was relatively heavy, compared to its rivals, but was famously stable under braking and in the corners.
Immaculate 1996 Kawasaki Ninja ZX7R up for grabs, boasting a pristine new factory ninja green paint job, powder-coated wheels, fresh tires, brakes, oil, and air filter, along with a meticulously rebuilt carburetor to factory standards. This bike is a standout with all original plastics, except for the side panels, making it a perfect choice for riding or displaying in your mancave. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to own this exceptional ZX7R.
Back when these were new, I absolutely hated that lurid green Kawasaki paint, but I have since seen the error of my ways and absolutely love it. I’m more of an Italian bike fan, but there is a part of me that would want to have one of these in my garage, preferably in the green/white/purple colors of the ZX-7RR… Prices of these have been on the rise and clean examples are hard to find, but is this example worth the $9,500 asking price? It has been repainted, and the miles aren’t very low, but the bike does look pretty nice, if a bit rough around the edges and would make an excellent bike to ride hard. Hopefully, the seller is serious about the “or best offer” part of the listing, and this one finds a nice home.

Too much green? Bite your tongue.
Never too much green! However, too many $$$.
Ha! Oh, in terms of color, a Kawi can’t be too green. But in terms of dollar bills…
Exactly! Way too much green for this machine.
