For sale is a very rare GTS 1000, the first mass produced forkless front end design. Only sold in USA 1993-94. This 1994 Yamaha GTS1000 is powered by a fuel-injected 1,002cc DOHC inline-four paired with a five-speed transmission and is finished in metallic blue with silver and black accents. Equipment includes electronic ignition, front and rear anti-lock disc brakes, a single-sided front swingarm with a mono-shock, and 17″ alloy wheels, a four-into-one exhaust system, a black vinyl-upholstered rider seat and passenger pillion, and both center and side stands. Work performed in 2024 includes replacing the battery as well as changing the oil, clutch hydraulic fluid, and brake fluid. This GTS1000 shows 8500 miles. The fully-faired bodywork is finished in metallic blue with silver and black accents and gradient GTS decals. Features include a clear windscreen, Three-spoke 17″ alloy wheels are mounted with 130/60 front and 170/60 rear. Front suspension is provided by a hub-center-steered system derived from James Parker’s Rationally Advanced Design Development (RADD) concept, which utilizes a single-sided swingarm connected to a mono-shock as well as both sides of Yamaha’s Omega Shaped Chassis. Rear suspension consists of a mono-shock connected to the rear swingarm via a rising-rate linkage. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a hydraulically actuated multi-plate wet clutch, a five-speed transmission, and a drive chain. This is a premium example of high quality thinking outside the box engineering. This bike handles amazingly without bump steer in cornering and has plenty of power and stability for 2 up riding. (Left mirror was bumped in our shop and being replaced) We will consider reasonable offers. Bike magazine called it the ‘coolest of rare motorcycles’ ever made.
