SELLER
I purchase this bike about a year ago from an auction site. The bike was said to have all the maintenance up to date and ready to roll, unfortunately that was not the case.
The only truth was that it had new tires, chain, and a sprocket. I wasn’t looking for another project bike but I got one.
Areas that I have diagnosed and fixed are as follows:
Speedometer cable was broken. Replace with a NOS cable. The charging system was not working and would blow the 30 amp fuse.
It had the double light from a 80’s Yamaha FZ. A common swap, but they failed to use any sort of relays. I purchased an original headlight and restored it. All the wiring is as it should be now.
Cleaned all the ground points and cleaned up the wiring. No more blown fuses and the battery charges at 14.2v. New battery as well. Changed the oil and filter.
I have replaced the belts and did a valve adjustment. I follow LT Snyder from Desmo Times recommendations for tolerances. I have done two of my other bikes this way and it works well.
It had a starter solenoid from I don’t know where hanging off the side of the frame. It now has a new one properly mounted. When I had everything apart I went through and cleaned and detailed everything under the fairings. Radiator fan was bench tested. I pulled the thermostat and checked it. Worked properly and looked new. I replace most all the hoses with new NOS items and used Samco hose clamps. There are two small hoses that I could not find for replacement but they are in good shape.
The radiator expansion/overflow tank was patched with epoxy and leaked. I have plastic welded the seams with the proper material. I replace the front turn signal amber plastic with NOS items. I had the forks rebuilt by Suspension Matters in Azusa CA. I went through and checked the fuel pump and hoses and replaced the fuel filter.
The inside has been coated and looks ugly but I see no problem with rust. The exhaust cans are I think Cobra. They are free flowing and sound great and there are no identification marks. I know they are made of aluminum. It has a K&N air filter.
I was told it has a Fast by Ferracci chip but I did not open the ECU to verify. Euro taillight that eliminates the turn signal ears. The paint is in great shape but there are a few touch up areas that are hard to capture with a picture. You don’t notice them until you are close. The bike runs really good now and tracks down the road smooth and handles nice in the turns.
I have tried to make it as up to date on maintenance as possible. A few of the receipts I got with the bike shows valve work done, voltage regulator, and an alternator. mileage was 14000 at the time of that work.
All the receipts of what I put into it will be provided. I have put around 700 miles on it since I did the work.
The title I have is clean. I looked up the vin and it has a salvage title dating back to 1/23/95 with 804 Miles. The seller I got it from stated that it was body damage and the parts were too expensive. What happend back then I do not know. The bike is solid and there is no evidence of it being a damaged bike. I have done my best to describe and bring the bike up to a reliable standard. That said it is still a 33 year old motorcycle. Feel free to ask me any questions. I’ll have a link to a YouTube video that shows a start and the lights functioning. The only thing on the dash that does not work is the clock.

After looking at my pictures I noticed that the clutch cover is vented. It now has a solid original cover on it.

Now that is a Seller’s Description.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

Beautiful in black with striking white wheels!! Love this bike in profile.
Hey that’s my bike. Thanks for posting it. I hate when people fudge their descriptions especially when I fall victim to it. It’s an enjoyable bike to ride. Hate to say it but better than my 900 SS SP which I put a lot into.
Best,
Kelly
I have not seen one in Black and this looks great. I can appreciate all the effort that goes into a project like this. I am in the middle of a similar project myself.
Someday this model will be appreciated for the curiosity value of directions followed by Ducati on their journey back from near death.
Place one side by side with the first CBR600 Honda to get an idea of who copied who in the style department.
Had Ducati been healthier financially at the time this line of machines might well have been developed far further.
What if etc etc
I’ve never been a fan of the Paso, but it definitely looks much better in black. Appealing, actually.
