This is a pretty good looking example for only $2500. Oh yeah, it only has 5k miles too! I know there are a handful of Pacific Northwest followers in here, not to mention Doug is an owner, so naturally I had to post right away:
1990 Yamaha FZR400 on Medford Craigslist
quote from the listing:
1990 yamaha fzr 400 only 5k miles, with aluminum delta box frame AND swingarm. only imported for 3 years and the 1990 is the only year with a delta box swingarm. very rare and unique bike. rated best ultra lightweight superbike of all time… even by todays standards. $2500.
The black plastics on this one remind me of my old FZR600 from college. Good memories and I’ve always heard the 400 was more than a match for the 600 with the lighter frame. I can practically feel the Citibank cash advance jumping out of my wallet right now!

naaah.. wait for a 1990 EXUP to show up. I had one and wish I hadn’t sold it.
Even at $2500 with 5k miles?
Great find dc! This bike should sell pretty quick at that price if it is in good stock condition. Not to mention 5,000 miles is super low mileage. another 400 or wife… another 400 or wife…. another 400 or wife….. I’ll get back to you guys 😉
Dan – $2500 is a very fair price if it runs ok, hasn’t been abused, etc.. if you’re looking to collect then the ’90 Exup (California only) model is the one to get.. but they’re getting really hard to find. Also look for one with the solo seat ( see one here http://fzr400.com/sales_prices.htm )
DAMN RIGHT!!! it is a very nice 1990 fzr400!!! i bought it in 2002 for my wife and she has never ridden it. i found it at a po-dunk car lot in mcminville oregon. but we found out she was pregnant before i could even pick it up. why we kept it so long… i dont know, but now it is time to find it a new home. P.S. it has 5612 original miles and still has factory rear tire… but it is all worn out.
Good luck with the sale Joel!
