If the standard RG500 is rare enough for you, this Walter Wolf edition should do the trick. Once again, we have another awesome two-stroke from our neighbors to the North.Canadaobviously understood that two-stroke sport bikes would become collectible down the road and allowed their citizens to purchase these legally in order to sell them to those in the States 20 years in the future. Or, they just had less restrictive emissions laws which made these smokers available for sale back then. It’s one of those two scenarios.
Back to the RG500; How does 95hp in a 350lb package sound to you? Sounds like a blast to me, especially with four canisters howling like demons at 13k RPM. The Walter Wolf edition was only cosmetically different from the standard RG500 of the day. The WW for sale here has pretty low mileage with less than 10km on the clock and is claimed to be in original condition with the exception of tires.
From the seller:
I AM SELLING A VERY RARE,COLLECTORS ITEM, 1986 SUZUKI RG500 GAMMA WALTER WOLF LIMITED EDITION,IN VERY GOOD CONDITION CONSIDERING IT IS 26 YEARS OLD.THE BIKE LOOKS LIKE BRAND NEW EXCEPT FOR A FEW SMALL CRACKS,THAT HAVE BEEN PLASTIC WELDED, THAT YOU GET OVER TIME ON THESE BIKES.
THERE WERE ONLY 300 UNITS PRODUCED WORLD WIDE OF THE WALTER WOLF EDITION AND MOST OF THEM HAVE BEEN DESTROIED OR PARTED OUT LONG TIME AGO.THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A PICE OF HISTORY.
I HAD THIS BIKE FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS AND IT WAS THE PRIDE AND JOY OF MY COLLECTION,BUT NOW I HAVE DECIDED TO LET SOMEONE ELSE ENJOY IT.
I HAD THE CARBUTATORS CLEANED IN AN ULTRASONIC MACHINE AND NEW THROTLE CABLES INSTALLED.THE BIKE STARS MOST OF THE TIME ON FIRST KICK IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT RIGHT.
THE ONLY THING THAT THE BIKE HAS THAT IS NOT ORIGINAL IS A SET OF METZLER TIRES THAT LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE LOTS OF THREAD,ABOUT 90%,WAY MORE THAN YOU NEED TO PASS SAFETY IN CANADA.MOST PEOPLE PUT THEM ON TO IMPROVE THE HANDLING OF THE BIKE.
THERE ARE ONLY 9957 ORIGINAL KILOMETERS ON THE BIKE AND AS YOU CAN TELL IT HAS BEEN STORED FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS SINCE I HAD IT AND AT LEAST 8 YEARS BEFORE THAT.
The seller’s opening bid is on the upper end of what we have seen these Wolf’s go for at $20k. However, I don’t think this price is completely ridiculous considering that one of the last ones we saw was being asked for near double that amount. It has been stored for a while but the seller does mention a recent carb cleaning and new throttle cables and claims that it starts on the first kick (most of the time). This is truly a rare machine and they don’t come around often. So if you are a collector and have been wanting one, take a very good look at this one. Check out the auction here!
