Eighteen of these beauties have found their way to our site over the past 16 years. In July of 2011, Andrew posted one on the market and gave us some background. “The VF1000R started with the RE version, and Honda went on to make RF and RG versions, which were marked by minor styling revisions (including a move from twin headlamps to a single headlight), and an increase in power from 122 to 130bhp. Most important was the V4 engine, combined with the endurance-racer styling. Originally priced at US$6,300 the VF1000R was expensive for its time and did not sell very well. It was also a bit too heavy, and not really very successful in racing….
…many excellant bikes going around the $6k – $7k [in 2011] mark with low mileage examples fetching as much as $10k. [in 2011]”
A quick search brings a higher mile example (17k) that sold this past February on BaT for $8,500. With only 6,200 miles on this bike, the $7,000 asking price seems quite appealing.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
Looks like a screaming deal begging to be flipped on BaT.
What a great looking bike, one of the best looking bikes ever made.

Of Course, It’s gone . . . interesting to see if it shows up on BAT.
How could you not love these. The best guest star on an episode of Knight Rider back in the day. Micro-lock his brakes KITT!
