2001 Ducati MH900e For Sale on eBay
The Ducati MHe (Mike Hailwood evoluzione) is one of those love it / hate it kind of bikes. So many of them were purchased with no intention of being ridden. This is one of those many bikes. With a production run of 2000 units, the MHe was unique in styling as well as the sales model: the bike sold via the internet and all build slots sold out in a single day.

The original owner of this rare superbike never filled it with fluids or rode it; the rear tire still has the original sticker too! This bike has been an exquisite piece of showroom art from day one that was displayed in his living room for guests to admire!
Zero mile anything brings big bucks these days. So if you are thinking about giving this one a new home, bring your wallet. This particular bike is being sold by a dealer in Texas, and the current bid is over the $20k mark in relatively serious bidding. Doesn’t look like there is any reserve at this stage, so if you have been looking for an MHe then this might be your best chance at a “new” one. Click the link to jump over to the auction and check out the tons of high-res pictures. Good Luck!!

The dealer had this bike listed before, and it got 20 bids maxing out at $22,800. I wonder if it was the buyer or the seller who wanted to back out of the sale. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-DUCATI-MH900evoluzione-NEVER-RIDDEN-SHOWROOM-PIECE-A-MUST-SEE-164-2000-/151031722095?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item232a31306f
Personally I don’t understand the attraction of these MH900’s. He!!, Mike Hailwood’s family didn’t even like it. I’ll take an original MHR any day. For the $20K wanted for this “tool” I can buy an original MHR!
I forgot to add, the original MHR is soooooooooooo much better looking than this MH900e.
also these bikes are supposed to have a fuel tank/range capacity that makes a harley sportster look like a prius…not for me thanks, even with if it had the ultra rare carbon fiber bodywork option
LOVE THE BIKE. But, NEWS FLASH: every one was filled with fluids and test-ridden at the factory. But his sales pitch sounds interesting. A for creativity.
Never ridden or started? They’re all test ridden at the factory, aren’t they? Wouldn’t that mean it has been started? What’s the mileage? It’s my understanding that there’s no such thing as a “zero mile” MHR. I guess one would have to turn on the ignition to get the true mileage, no?
I’ve got one of these (around bike 1600 of 2000 made) in the UK. I ride mine a couple of hundred miles every other year, and change the belts bi-annually too. It a mistake to compare them to the 900 MH replica (and arguably a mistake for Ducati to put an MH in the name at all, although I can sort of see where they were coming from doing something special for the year 2k), as its a totally different concept, and I love the Castrol replica just as much as the MH900E. Most people would be surprised what a brilliant job Ducati did of the chassis on the 900E – its a much better bike to ride than most would think, its much more than just eye candy. They probably should have just continued manufacturing beyond 2,000 units to more like 20,000 units and not bothered with the later Sport Classic retro bike.
