Not the GP replica, but still a bantamweight champ, the streetable RS250 ( full VIN ) is a fun afternoon waiting to happen. Built for the road from 1995-2002, the RS250 boasts 70-odd hp and just over 300 lbs.
2001 Aprilia RS250 for sale on eBay
An interesting V-twin of only 249cc, the Suzuki-powered RS250 has Aprilia intake, ECU, and expansion chambers ( with Arrow carbon mufflers ). Power comes is strong at 9,000 ( ! ) rpm and redlines at nearly 12,000. Kick start only, as a starter and bigger battery would push the weight up by almost 10 percent. Lovely polished aluminum perimeter frame has matching banana swingarm, shaped to accomodate the expansion chambers. Adjustable Showa 40mm upside-down forks lead the Sachs rear monoshock. The Brembo brakes could handle a much larger bike – 298 fronts disks with 200 mm rear. The monoposto layout is surprisingly comfortable for a full size adult.
Only lightly used with under 3,000 miles, this RS250 looks pretty good in the limited photos. There are some updates, new parts, and repairs that the owner describes in the eBay auction:
Couple scuff’s in the graphics and little nicks in tail but have all new graphics for the full bike.

Not locked onto the racetrack, the DOT RS250 can take you anywhere, and might be a rarer sight outside your favorite breakfast place than in the pits…

Cool RGV lump! Capable power if you wring the piss out of it, and reliable, without being a jetting jedi. I just fucking HATE the bodywork. Looks like a paso! Next…
This bike has changed hands 2-3 times in as many years…ask questions before making it yours.
seller needs to lower the reserve and try again if he actually wants to part with it and recieve $
Well, figured it was close to 8500 usd. Make make him an offer in cash via CL.
seller has pretty poor communication, a feedback of 4, and I was bidding against a zero feedback bidder for a bit. Usually indicates a “shill bidder’, like one of his friends or another account he created.
10k or even substantially less than that is too much of course, and I’ve decided to not bid on it as the seller decided to just relist it and not return my email to him.
yeah I figured it was something weird going on towards the end, it shot up ridiculously fast at the wire. must be hoping for a bidder who this is there first day on the internet…
