Moto Guzzi has always incorporated their classic ideas into new models, and the 1100 Sport is a great mix of engineering and style. This one has new batteries and tires and looks ready for a long summer trip.
1995 Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 for sale on eBay
Presenting a new machine at a certain price point is a series of compromises, in this case trading their V-twin four-valve engine for 100 more cc’s and pushrod actuated valves, giving the Sport 1100 90 hp and the usual plentiful ft.-lbs. 40mm Dell’Orto carburetors met emission regs with a catalyst, and the typical backbone chassis was enhanced with cast alloy side plates to mount the swingarm and footpegs. The half-fairing has become a Guzzi classic and incorporated fresh air intakes.
This Wisconsin owner states he is the second rider, and it looks very good for its 23,000 miles, but with a little attention could be a star. The NLA Staintune mufflers are a period upgrade and are well-suited to the carburetted engine. And sound excellent in the owner’s – video –. Durability has long been a Guzzi strong point and there’s no reason to thing this Sport wouldn’t want all the miles a new owner could throw at it. From the eBay auction:
In overall stock condition and ready to be enjoyed. It has the highly desired Staintune exhaust which sounds spectacular. It has brand new proper sized Pirelli front and rear tires on it installed in May of 2021 that only have a couple hundred miles on them. These bikes have two batteries mounted in the tail and BOTH batteries are new as of May 2021. The oil was changed in spring of 2021 as well. From the prior owner there is a receipt for some gear box seal work being performed. This Guzzi runs great, shifts great, brakes great, and does not leak. Hop on and enjoy the unique experience !
As stated, the cosmetics overall are very nice. It is an extremely presentable and attractive machine. It is the type of machine that draws quite a bit of attention and passion. It is in nicer shape than would be expected for the age and mileage but it does have some typical minor nicks and light scratches here and there, but nothing that stands out or distracts from the motorcycle’s presentation. The black finish is still the original Guzzi factory applied finish, is of impressive quality, is exceptionally smooth and glossy. I have only lightly detailed it here and there. With some more effort with polishing the finish and other areas on this bike would turn out even better. Note: In the photos/video it is shown without bar end weights. I have since installed bar end weights.
I am essentially the second owner, and all owners have been adult motorcycling enthusiast owners. The original owner had it until a couple years ago, until he passed away. He resided in Wisconsin and put the majority of the miles on the Guzzi, and took excellent care of it. One can tell it has been stored indoors, kept clean, and been well maintained. A collector purchased the Guzzi from the original owner’s estate, owned it for a couple of years, and I purchased it from the collector. I have greatly enjoyed riding it and it offers up such a unique experience. The 1100cc V-twin offers up such a sweet exhaust note and are known for being rock solid reliable. This 1995 version is the carbureted model and as stated runs excellent, no tuning or adjustment needed.
In the Guzzi galaxy, the Sport 1100 is on the sportier side, with low clip-ons and seat’s backstop indicating great potential. The realities of the big axial twin require smooth power additions in the corner, though it reviewed as a very stable handler. With the Make Offer button, this might be a great addition to a Moto Guzzi collection, or a a perfect place to start.
