Intended as a celebratory livery in honor of Nicky Hayden’s 2006 Moto GP championship, the Repsol-stickered superbike is now a more somber reminder of how instantly things can change. The second generation in-line four had a nice bump in torque and slightly quicker steering, but didn’t give up the steady handling and great build quality.
2007 Honda CBR1000RR Repsol Edition for sale on eBay
After retiring the RC51 and returning to an I-four for WSBK, Honda had more resources to throw at the CBR flagship, and all the more reason with a new championship. The first-gen CBR1000RR was only a couple of years old, so incremental changes were in order – a touch more compression, slightly different valve porting, revised steering geometry, larger but thinner brake disks, and the result was a skwosh more powerful and a smidgen lighter, though still heavier than the competition.
This Fireblade’s Florida caretaker has limited mileage to just over 6,000 and made several updates, looking excellent and undamaged. From the eBay auction:
One of the few remaining of the only 300 produced for 2007. Mint condition, one owner. Power commander, Boz Bros. moto GP exhaust, flush mount front turn signals, tail light/blinker combo, plate relocater, HID’s, oem second seat cover and carbon fiber extras. Never seen rain and always sleeps under a cover! This bike was produced after Nicky Hayden won the moto GP in 2006. Unfortunately he has recently passed away after a biking accident in Italy. I would hope to see the bike in the hands of a collector to honor Nicky’s legacy. Thank you for looking.
Reviews of the CBR1000RR confirmed the solid feeling, and that the bike was composed at speed, almost deceptively fast. Integration and testing by factory riders and engineers are the usual reason, leaving not much to chance. After all, this sort of machine is generally found no more than ten feet from the showroom door. A couple of this owner’s mods might not be your taste, but all are easily reversed. Hard to argue the overall condition, any more than the great championship team colors. The MotoGP laurel on the tank is a small tribute to a hardworking and humble champion, who wore his dad’s racing number 69, and was bicycling for fitness ( after a morning run ! ) in the middle of the WSBK season…

A little too squidded out for my tastes, but thankfully it’s still new enough where NOS parts are readily available to return it to its proper form.
Original low mile Hayden 07s will be collectible. Best looking of the cbr1000s.
Seriously considering this one…doesn’t appear to need a lot of work to get it back to stock and miles are low enough. Starting bid seems a bit steep to me….Hmmmmmm?
I have one with 285 miles on it. All stock.
Listing pulled. Anybody here buy it?
