Among one of the best handling motorbikes ever made and superbly fun to ride with commitment here we have Suzuki’s late 2-stroker from 1993:
In comparison to the previous models, it featured a revised (stiffer) rear swing arm and most notably a reduced V angle of 70°.
In original trim the bike featured the following specs:
Overall Length: 1 995 mm (78.5 in)
Overall Width: 690 mm (27.2 in)
Overall Height: 1 070 mm (42.1 in)
Seat Height: 766 mm (30.2 in)
Wheelbase: 1 380 mm (54.3 in)
Dry Weight: 139 kg (306 lbs)
Engine type: 249 cc water-cooled 2-stroke 70° V-twin. 62 hp/ 11.000 rpm, 4.0 kg-m/ 11.000 rpm

I reckon that the next new in-thing might be to return to the flashy colours of the late 80s (have a look at the awesome movie Drive)…
Whether the prophecy will be completely wrong or not, the bike found in Germany is well worth a closer look as it seems to be a very very clean one and you know how rare that is for this type of bike (most RGVs ended up as pure track weekend bikes when they were not otherwise raced):
With 24.500km and one owner form new this seems to be a proper “survivor”. The owner further describes his sale like this:
Hello! Offer you here at my RGV 250 in absolute original condition.
The RGV is on tinkering!! and ungetunt, and accident-free.
Mileage approximately 24,500 KM. Engine has the full capacity of 41 kW / 56 PS. Are currently registered in the papers 34 hp.
When buying the machine, there is a fresh inspection (of course by professional company) and new MOT. The RGV is thus transferred to the buyer technically faultless!!
Optically very good and original condition.
Tires almost new. Rear tires currently a 160er (released in the papers!) … Series is back 150s ….
Machine is always in the dry and heated place. Only regular exercise rides.
Homologated seats: AN / no Mopped the back tour on Sunday afternoon, please keep it! :-))))
Private sale: NO warranty; NO warranty; no renegotiation, no return
For questions, please send a mail. RGV should be inspected before you.
After consultation I am possibly willing to deliver the bike after purchase, if it is in the vicinity (up to 80 km … so …)
Happy Bidding 🙂
Here are some hints & info:– Location is 53804 Much / NRW / Bergisches Land, near Cologne – Bonn – Siegburg – Overath
– I would also swap for a moped: Kreidler RS foil or Mustang Cross, perhaps also Hercules – K50 series RL …
– The minimum price is € 3400.00 for purchase as described in the auction. Here is a real appeal to the “bargain hunters”: Spare me with emails and offers
as “….. for 1800, – I take the RGV …” The SUZI is on and tinkering with unopened engine, in absolute original condition. The price is completely realistic.– If no value on a new inspection places and no new MOT wants the help I can: There is a small leak at the rear
Brake cylinder. That would re-done in the inspection anyway. Without inspection, no new MOT, as it is now: Fixed price: EUR 2,950.00– The last inspection (by workshop) was carried out in September 2010, with account; for € 637.00
The buy it now price is set to 3500 EUR (4670 $) which is not cheap but then again how many models like this have you seen around ?

1993 Suzuki RGV 250 in Germany
Claudio
Good morning, Dan. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the VJ22 a 90-degree V-twin? I believe that the later — and last RGV — the VJ23, was Suzuki’s 70-degree V.
As always, RSBF is my first destination when I get up! Site is looking great!

The RGV VJ22 models are typically 1991 thru 1995 this particular version being one of the later model ones with the braced style swing arm vs the earlier 91 -92 models that had the banana arm.
VJ23 models are ’96 and some classified as ’97 model year. In japan they considered the first year VJ22 (A model) to be a 1990 and a half!
The seller of this bike is correct on the year it is a 1993 model right down to the colors of what appears to be orginal bodywork.
I was certain that only the VJ23 was a 70 degree twin as well. Wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong. 🙂
