2004 Honda CB50R Dream 50
Miles: 1
Clean California Title
Listed Price: $10,500
Sure, this might look like some sort of small-displacement Honda racebike from the 1960s, a stripped-down CB160, or maybe Honda’s legendary CR110, a sophisticated racing machine with dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, and an eight-speed gearbox. Instead, it’s much a more modern 2004 Honda CB50R Dream 50, a loving homage to bikes like the CR110, albeit with just six speeds in its little gearbox. Interestingly, claimed power for the little 49cc machine is exactly the same 7hp produced by the original CR110. Coincidence? I think not and, with just 156lbs to cart around, that 7hp can make the bike feel pretty zippy. The spindly forks might look low-spec, you’ll note that they are adjustable, and there’s no starter whatsoever so, if you do want to run this little jewel, you’ll need to bump start it. Or use one of those cool, trackside roller starters. Which probably makes more horsepower than the actual bike…

Offered up for sale is an incredibly rare and perfect example of a 2004 Honda CB50R. These were only produced for one year and are an homage to the CR110 Honda Roadracer. The heart of these bikes are based around a gear driven, DOHC 49cc engine capable of 14,000 RPM. 1 of 440 ever made, this one has never been ridden, is absolutely showroom and always stored in a climate controlled environment.
This particular example comes equipped with two sets of bodywork. All the original silver bodywork (unobtainium and mint) was taken off and kept safely stored in the original shipping boxes. The second set of bodywork has been treated to extremely high end, better then OEM quality paintwork done by a hotrod painter in Central California. Also comes with 2 extra seats, display stand and a few spares. Currently registered with a clean California off road title. Comes with a original owner’s manual and setup instructions.
So in summary, if you have been looking for one of the cleanest, coolest, collectible mini motorcycles then this may be the bike for you. Ride it, show it, or add it to your collection! I am asking $10,500 obo. If you would like to set up an appointment to see it, give me a call at the number listed or e-mail me your contact number and I will get a hold of you. Please….serious only! Thanks for looking.
Listings for the Honda CB50R Dream 50 seem to reference them being produced in very low numbers, but I assume the “1 of 440 ever made” refers to just the 2004 model, as the Dream 50 has been available in one form or another since the late 1990s, and I’d imagine far more than 440 have been built in total. Early bikes had striking red frames and at least had road equipment fitted, whereas the 2004 model doesn’t appear to have been road-legal anywhere. Fans of the Dream 50 are definitely encouraged to comment below, as good information regarding these little machines is scarce.
