Introduced in 1994, the Triumph Speed Triple T309 was one of the original naked sportbikes, along with the Ducati Monster that preceded it. Based around Triumph’s modular spine frame platform of the period that underpinned a wide range of models, it was powered by their liquid-cooled, four-valve per cylinder 885cc triple that produced a claimed 98hp and was backed by a five-speed gearbox. Although adjustable suspension featured at both ends, handling wasn’t especially agile, owing to the fact that the bike was relatively heavy and carried its weight a bit high. But it was capable, fun, and stylish, a real-world performer that helped to keep Triumph afloat through the 1990s.
From the original eBay listing: 1995 Triumph Speed Triple for Sale
This 1995 Triumph Speed Triple is a great bike for anyone looking for a classic naked motorcycle. With a powerful 900cc engine and only 8000 miles on the odometer, this bike is sure to provide a thrilling ride. The exterior is a sleek black color that gives it a timeless look. The bike has a clean title and does not come with an existing warranty. Overall, this is a fantastic option for any motorcycle enthusiast looking for a reliable and stylish ride.
The asking price for this example is $5,500 or best offer and, from the limited selection of pictures, this bike looks very clean. There is a bit of a mileage discrepancy: the ad lists 8,000 miles and the odometer shows 2,666. It did apparently have a low-speed crash at some point, so the turn signals have been replaced with newer parts. A crash of any kind is always a bit of a red flag but, judging by the rest of what we can see, I’d still consider this worth a serious look, especially considering what a value proposition these represent currently.

Agree, these are big bikes. But damn, the black on black really looks good today. They aren’t making them anymore. And the $5,000 or OBO is tempting.
