Available for sale (with a CA title and plate!) is this Walter Wolf racing Suzuki RG400 Gamma. Purists will immediately note the livery discrepancies, and the seller is forthright that this is a repaint. However the claim is that this is an original Wolf that has been repainted. The gauges have the correct logos, and most importantly this bike has a CA registered plate that is current. Pictures are few and small – which is unfortunate – as this bike has a few mods that prospective buyers should look into. This could be a great opportunity to snag a WW in the US, and a rare opportunity to bag a titled smoker in California.
1986 Suzuki RG400 Gamma Walter Wolf for sale on eBay
From the seller:
HI, I’M SELLING MY 1986 RG400 WW, THE BIKE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE ENGINE IS A 400 cc 4 CYLINDER TWIN CRANK SQ FOUR WITH ROTARY DISC VALVE INDUCTION. IT HAS THE LANCE GAMMA INTAKE UPGRADE WHICH IS AIR FILTERS AND JETTING. WHEN I GOT THE BIKE THE PAINT WAS FADED, SO I HAD IT CUSTOM REPAINTED AND NEW DECALS MADE. I UPGRADED THE WHEELS TO 17 INCH F/R. THE FORKS ARE FROM A GSXR 750. THE CALIPHERS ARE FROM A RGV250. I CONVERTED THE CHAIN AND SPROCKETS TO 520 SIZE. THE REAR SHOCK IS UPGRADED FOR REBOUND, DAMPING, AND PRELOAD. THIS BIKE IS VERY VERY RARE. ITS A CALIFORNIA PLATED 2 STROKE BIKE. ITS HAS NEW TIRES, BRAKES, AND TUNE UP. THE BIKE HAS THE SEAT COWL INCLUDED. ITS OIL INJECTED USING RED LINE FULL SYN OIL. THE BIKE IS PICTURED WITH JIM LOMIS RACING EXHAUST. WHEN THE BIKE IS SOLD I WILL REPLACE THE EXHAUST WITH THE STOCK SYSTEM. THE JIM LOMIS EXHAUST IS SEPARATE FOR $900.00. I WILL GIVE THE NEW OWNER THE STOCK WHEELS, FORKS, HANDLE BARS AND CALIPHERS IF HE WANTS THEM. THE ENGINE WAS REBUILT BY THE LAST OWNER TO 1 OVER STOCK SIZE. THE ENGINE IS BULLET PROOF. THIS BIKE IS A TRUE GP BIKE WITH ITS HANDLING. THERES NOT MUCH BELOW 3K, BUT ONCE ON PIPE IT HAS A ELECTRIC SMOOTH ACCELERATION UP TO ITS 11K RED LINE.

This looks like a poor example if you are looking for a 400 wolf edition. The tail section, windscreen, blinkers, front fender and side panels are aftermarket. The fairing is tweaked because the headlight is off center. I personally dislike the wolf edition paint job in the first place but whoever painted this changed the letter sizes and the font to make it look much worse than original. Any additional value from the wolf limited addition is lost because of all the poor work done on the bike. With the bodywork that has been done, different rims and forks i would guess this bike has been crashed hard at least once. I would be hesitant on purchasing this one unless i could see it in person especially with a lack of good pictures which i am sure is by design.
one of the best 2 stroke engins ever made.Walter Kahden would be proud.Condition is well described by the SELLER,any comnent from me would be reduntent &,I get paid for my opnion/survay. I’m watching this one,at the right price its mine , Give it a scuff & squrit, Beat it like rug, then,………………………!!! ???
its got some decent upgrades, for a titled mini gamma in cali it could be a good buy, for the right price. Besides, seller states the motor is “bulletproof”. LOL.
jetted for a hot day in denver & run it on a cold, dry day at sea-leval .the hole in the piston won’t be from a bullet
Who knows if it was a true “wolf” bike. The gauges can be purchased along with the correct decals, in this case the wrong size and placement My guess is it’s a standard RG400 in pretty lousy wolf suit The plastics are not even close to what it should look like for this model…. and thats the only thing that makes it a wolf anyway along with the gauges and a wolf key.
A 400 Jap Wolf is worth no more than a regular Jap spec 400. Why ? Because they are so common in the southern hemisphere as they were only released for the JDM and are leaving Japan by the container load. Same go`s for the WW JDM RG500 (there was no other domestic RG 500 released in Japan) Most are corroded to buggery and cost more to make decent than what they are worth.
The JDM WW RG500 was only made because they (Suzuki) still had unsold bikes after the 99 they delivered to WW in Canada.
like I said Cali is loaded with haters, the bike may have a custom body on it but it’s still a rare bike non the less, I have been to many two stroke shows in the socal area I have seen a handful of rg 500’s but have yet to see a rg 400 in person
It sold for $6800, not a bad deal. I hate the way it looks, what a crappy paint job, what was the owner thinking? WW RG400 are common and not worth anything extra over a standard one. I own both RG400 and RG500 and it seems like the same bike to me.
