Clean California Title
Listed Price: $6,500

Up for sale is a 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Turbo. I just went through pretty much everything. Cleaned and synchronized the carburetors. Acid washed gas tank. New fuel hose and fuel filter. New battery. Carburetor float needles and seat set. New gas cap. Starts idles and runs great. Rebuilt turbo with g-pop-shop rebuilt kit. Current Non operational registration. No fees. Clean CA title. Pink slip in hand. Cash sale only.
Cash in hand to test ride. No trades.
I’d like to have seen some more detailed images of this Yamaha XJ650 Seca Turbo, but it appears to be in very nice condition, considering its age. The fact that the seller has gone through the bike, rebuilt the turbo, and generally put things in running order is a big plus. Comparing values online, this one appears to be on the pricier end of the spectrum but, if you’re looking for a bit of 80s turbo weirdness, $6,500 doesn’t seem like very much money to spend. Turbo lag and the weight really keep this from being an outright sportbike, but the comfortable ergonomics, generally excellent handling, and shaft drive might make for an interesting back road companion when ridden at a more relaxed pace, or a cool conversation piece at your local bike night. Or maybe a quirky sport-tourer, if you’re mechanically-inclined and very brave…

Not often you see one of these in such condition. I had the chance to try one back when I had its stable mate, an XZ550, one of the worst bikes ever built. Anyway, the Seca was quick and comfortable, but no lightweight. I did like the futuristic styling.
