Ahh yes the KTM RC8….if you know you know, but these bikes were made in such low numbers that you might not know because there’s a good chance you have never seen one.
How low is low? Less than a 1000 of these gems were ever produced, and very very few of them in this color scheme. Most of what you will see are the white and orange versions nicknamed the creamsickle.
These bikes were the finest sport bike KTM had to offer. 173 hp from an incredibly torquey V-twin powerplant. They were engineered and built to complete with the best top level sport bikes of their day. Incredible suspension and brakes and the fit, finish and component quality of these machines is what KTM is known for. This bike is a R version which features Marchinese wheels. Bike is all stock except for the addition of a very rare competition works exhaust with Akrapovik tune.

Under the category of IYKYK, William gives us an insight, “It is impossible to talk about the KTM RC8 without mentioning that KTM stopped making them because the executive group thought that it was too fast to sell to the public. If reading the period reviews, it was a well respected and top tier performance machine. While not exactly faster than other offerings, it did spark a conversation around what the point of a certain level of performance was for the street.”
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

but the seller does say it is an R model? “This bike is a R version which features Marchinese wheels”
@Mike Thank you! Obviously I skimmed the seller’s description too fast. I was wondering about the price…
I can remember when these were all over ebay and this site, especially the lovely red bull and arakopvic editions. Now they seem to be quite Rare
