The seller does not give as many photos as we are used to, and I can’t see the miles, but it looks clean and… it comes with a yellow/white matching leather jacket if you buy a matching helmet. This type of offer is not often seen here on RSBFS, so I am more curious than normal and really want to see these helmets and jacket. Please read the seller’s description below and let us know if you take a look at the bike. Please.
Donn covered one of these here on RSBFS in 2021 that was scooped up quickly. He stated, “Although it wasn’t the superbike, the 748 was equipped for fun, with 98 hp and a closer ratio transmission than the 916. Elsewhere, the spec sheets were shared, with indistinguishable chassis and brakes, Showa USD forks and monoshock, and wheel sizes. Weights are within a few pounds and the tank and bodywork are hard to tell apart. Charging and cooling system mediocrities were also shared.”
In a review of the 748 Ducati line on Motorcycle News they state, “So the 748 and its successor, the 749 were never regarded as serious sportsbikes. But now we’ve all grown up a bit we can admit the 748 and 749 were indeed lovely.”
Steve Rose at Bike Social agrees, “Ducati’s 916 deserves all its iconic status and then some. But for many people who were lucky enough to ride both, the smaller 748 was the better bike to ride.”
