Update: Bidding stalled at $6,000.00 and bike did not sell
1998 Ducati Super Sport 900 Final Edition with only 135 miles and never been titled.
Located in Marina, CA is a superb looking FE being sold as new with only 135 miles on the clock. Listed on ebay and currently at $4,550 with the reserve still on. In keeping the miles on the low low there shouldn’t be much more than some dust to polish off and this one should be ready to go. I personally have grown quite fond of these earlier 900’s and as Phil has touched on before, they are an inexpensive entry point into the world of Ducati. I know they aren’t the latest greatest, but the 900’s aren’t torture racks like the 916’s that followed either. This one does have a personalized message, written in Sharpie, on the tank. For me this distracts from the purity and overall value of the bike. I realize that it is possible to remove it, but the bike should be flawless in every way with only 135 miles in 12 years.
Phil has posted several FE’s as of late and it seems that prices are some of the lowest for any Ducati LE. I’m not sure why either because they share a lot of the same bits as the SS SL. Mono-posto seat, high mount pipes, a sprinkling of carbon bits and of course you get that air cooled Ducati sound. Now, with this one you’ll need to cut loose of a few hundred bucks for a set of pipes and a jet kit to make it sound really sweet. I’m curious to see where the bidding stops on this one since it is 100% stock other than some Sharpie.
Quotes from the listing:
