This bike is in running condition and I had it my collection for a few years and had some maintenance done to it which are listed above. I am about to retire in few years and need to downsize my collection. This bike is over 30 years old and is in very good condition but does have some wear and tear to it meaning it isn’t perfect showroom condition (see pictures). The bike ridden once a year to local motorcycle gathering and it still turn some heads.
Payment needs to clear the bank before releasing it.
Buyer needs to provide a shipping company. Can assist where needed to accommodate shipping company or pickup could be schedule.

Back in May of 2022 William gave us a clean review of the DB2, “Less is often said to be more. Less weight means better handling. Less power can mean the rider can extract more from the machine and end up having more fun. Less complications translate to lower service costs. If someone was going to email the RSBFS crew and want a recommendation for a bike that embodies this mindset, most of the time the answer would be a first generation Ducati 900SS. We love that bike, and for good reasons. But today lets explore a bike that is both very similar to the 900SS and very different. The Bimota DB2.
The Bimota DB2 is powered by the venerable air cooled L twin two valve Ducati engine. Producing about the same horsepower as in the Ducati. Quotes range from 82 to 86 horsepower, on average about a 2 horsepower bump over the Ducati. Maybe that is real, maybe it is marking fluff. The number that stands out is 30 pounds. That is roughly how much less weight the engine in the Bimota has to lug around. That is a hugely impressive achievement when you consider that the 900SS was not exactly a tank to start with.
The uprated suspension and Brembo calipers ensure confidence when the rider is pushing the limits either on the road or the track. Service costs are kept in check as the Ducati is know for being a reliable and easy to live with power plant. Components are easily sourced. This is not a bike that is going to consume brakes and tires like a modern superbike.”
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
The dealership that I worked at in Germany had one of these. I would eat my lunch everyday sitting next to it. Marvel at the exchange rate; 30,000DM was 19,000 USD$. This bike didn’t belong in a Motorcycle Shop it belonged in a Bicycle Shop. The craftsmanship and detail could only be compared to the best racing bicycles. And of Corsa it rides like a bicycle as well.
I’ve seen this bike in person at the Clifton, VA Bikes and Breakfast. It is gorgeous in the flesh, I drooled over it for a good long time and I never even noticed the flaws highlighted in the pics. Owner/seller is being very upfront here in presenting the minor flaws. Given what people are paying for a 900SS or 900CR these days… this is so much more special for only a little more money.
Many buys lust after the 900SL from Ducati. But is that even light weight?
Well not compared to the Bimota.
These are still an absolute bargain in the market.
Very easy to live with, maintain and enjoy.
@tragicallywhiteguy – We’ve just learned about these bikes and breakfast events. Would be fun to host one here in VT. Not sure if we can commit to a regular event, but we have some great syrup here to add to the pancakes.
@LL Just google “Bikes and Breakfast”. I’m not associated with them, but they welcome anyone to start a local event. I try to hit the Clifton, VA and Poolesville, MD events. They’re a Motorcycle centric alternative to Cars and Coffee. Very informal. The idea seems to be: pick someplace rural-ish that you can grab a quick breakfast, but that can accommodate a gathering, then meet with like minded motorcyclists, and head out for a ride in the country as you will. I have a few friends that I trust to ride with, but tend to avoid group rides. These are responsible adult sort of events, hooning is verboten.
@tragicallyWhiteGuy – Another reader recently mentioned it vie e-mail, so the universe wants us to know about it
