1987 Yamaha SRX 250, Super rare collector bike! 1 year ONLY in the US.Incredibly clean for a 36 year old bike. Has new tires and runs perfect, never been dropped.
This bike is a total blast to ride and would make the ultimate pit bike. This bike always turns heads whenever I take it out and has the impossible to find, solo seat cover, that was sold in Japan only.
Powered by an air-cooled 249cc DOHC four-stroke single mated to a six-speed transmission. Equipment includes electronic ignition, an electric starter 17 HP engine that redlines at 9,000 RPM!!!
After reading a few of our past RSBFS posts on the 1987 Yamaha SRX it seems to be clear that these are rare and fun. If you are looking for a cool pit bike, a fun neighborhood errand runner or an entry-level bike with character, this could be the bike for you.
This example does not have the cool chin strap/belly pan but it does have the solo seat cover.

I really liked mine. Riding on the highway for more than a few exits isn’t fun. It’s fantastic to 55mph. After that the droning motor starts buzzing painfully through the grips. If I didn’t have to get on the highway and lived near a mountain and didn’t want to get too many speeding tickets, this would be the bike to have again!
