SELLER
Collectors dream! only 3km shows very well no major scratches or dents in tank, some of the factory painted parts have light wear from heavy humidity in Japan see pics still a new bike and the more desirable 80cc Two-stroke engine.

RSBFS
I like mini-bikes, I cannot lie! And a 2 stroke…. Hard to imagine not zipping around the neighborhood on this, but with only 3 kilometers it will likely be going into a collection.
Though the seller is short on words, he has posted many more photos on the ebay listing and there is a video. So check it out!
HotCars.com wrote an article about the YSR80, noting that it was only sold in Japan and that they were produced in limited numbers, ’86 being the first year. Finding a low-mile 1986 YSR80 is difficult, so this indeed is a rare find. The question is, as always, what is it worth?
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
Pretty sure these were sold in Canada as well.
I still race minibikes to this day. I tried to build a ysr50 from parts at one point but serviceable gas tanks don’t exist anymore. Yamahas of the era had corrosion sceptibility I’ve never seen on any other brand. So I never got to ride my finished bike, let alone race it on track. I am convinced the air cooled 50 would be disapointing. My slowest trackbike I have is a liquid cooled 2004 NSR50. Superior in every way. But my curiosity still wants to know. And a ysr80 just takes that up another level.
if anyone near houston buys this and wants to know what it can do, I’ll sponsor you a trackday if you put on fresh rubber and contact me! I have decades of questions. But no I won’t be buying this to find out how much slower it is than a stock 10 year old Grom on a track.
@Michael “Decades of Questions” can be the title of your memoir.
