Interesting, very interesting. Yes, it is the real deal. Yes, it has a title and Yes, it is going home with someone (unless the auction is pulled). Other than that, there isn’t any real info on the bike. From the sound of the sellers info it kind of sounds like a flip type sale.
Too bad the pictures aren’t more clear. It looks complete and in great shape. The pictures show a missing passenger seat and a different gear oil cap. It looks like it even has the OEM rubber brake lines still on it. Warning sticker on the tank shows it is original paint.
I’m not sure about the Florida plates but the seller claims it has a Montana title (it is located in MT as well). Mileage is said to be at 5,000. Stop reading and buy the darn thing.
Ian
its not a factory l.s.it may have o.e. bodywork, but that one came out of the factory blue and white.
it was for sale in florida in 2010
I hate to rain on everyone’s parade here at RSBFS but to post a RGV VJ23 lucky strike as a “real deal” when in fact it is not? A tank sticker? Seriously? Careful jumping the gun …. you may have one unhappy buyer when he/she realizes its not!
Geniune T model lucky strikes were frames 100889-101246 inclusive.
But still a very cool bike for someone ……
the full power v model lucky strikes were frames 102099- 102218 inclusive.
There are no others.
I hear you guys but take a deep breath. A LS T model is nothing more than paint and stickers. If it is OEM panels and tank than, what are we fusing over, a VIN?
My priority would be is the bodywork OEM, is the bike 99% percent stock and title.
Alan,
Do you have any other info on the bike from when it was for sale in FL?
none that i can lay my hands on at the moment ian.
btw tex,i own 102140 and 102164.
you missed the statement about being a Pepsi edition!?
I never seen this bike for sale in Florida? At least don’t remember. I would rather have a VJ22 anyways.
i saw the pepsi ref in the ad,never was a factory option
quote”i saw the pepsi ref in the ad,never was a factory option”
yea I didn’t think so, not in those years
I just did a search of the vin number and it came up as being once for sale in Pembroke NH. Place called National Powersports and sold on April 28th 2013. Wish I lived in a state where you could legally title on of these. Here in Ca.
if you bring any bike in from out of state the CHP/DMV wants to see the emissions compliant sticker. Some guys go through Vermont to get a title and plate since you don’t have to live there to do it. Works if you never
get pulled over. With my luck, I would get stopped the first ride. There are a few RGV’s here in Ca. that do
have what looks to be legit titles but the DMV is really
cracking down on these cool little bikes. I have searched for two years here for a Ca. titled RGV VJ22,
not having any luck.
Don’t give up. They tend to come up for sale in waves. You won’t say any for a while then all of a sudden there will be multiple for sale.
Ron,
I picked up a VJ22 from Cali a couple of years ago, I actually saw it on these pages. Don’t give up hope Ron they are still about. Mine was originally an Australian model and the previous owner had ridden it on the roads of Cali since 92 without any problems. The only problem I had was all the corroded parts I had to refinish whilst doing the lengthy restoration due to him living on the coast!
