We’ve seen an unusual number of never ridden Ducati’s this week, and here’s another to add to the pile: A 1985 Ducati F1 750 available in Australia. This one could’ve benefit from a detailing before the pictures were taken, but you can clearly note how shiny the paint is nonetheless. The signals are hanging from their wires, which the seller states is how these were delivered — can anyone shed some light on this? In any event, if you “never ridden” Ducati collection is missing an F1, this might just work.

1985 Ducati 750 F1 for sale on eBay AU
from the seller:
Here is a bike for the serious Ducati collector, a brand new 1985 Ducati 750 F1
I purchased this as is from Dallas, USA about 10 years ago, it has full Australian import approval for road use
VIN # ZDM1AA3L6JB75195
Engine # DA3J7502239
apart from the collapsed blinker stems, which was standard for the F1’s it is a brand new bike, has the factory fitted battery, not activated yet.
I have had interest from overseas and can crate and arrange all shipping either domestic or worldwide, at buyers expense.
If someone were patient they could actually assemble a small collection of zero mile unstarted classic Ducatis, and Ducati motored Bimotas. It seems as though somebody always puts one away going back to the original Hailwood, at least. Sometimes they’re in Michigan, sometimes Japan or Australia. And in Canada, the late Henry Hogben owned an unstarted 1960’s 250 Diana bevel single!
It’s a pure collector subculture that you either subscribe to or don’t accept personally.
I believe in having crated bikes, zero mile bikes, low mile bikes and high mile bikes in a collection. Makes the collection more interesting. One would think with this bike the seller would have sourced some turn signals and really made it pop… Oh well
Never started? Wow, that is like being married to Kate Upton and never getting to “know her”. Sad.
This belongs to Alan Smith, owner of a bike museum in a small village west of Brisbane. This would have been a US delivered bike judging by the reflectors and other decals. Price is reasonable for zero mileage, and certainly many times above original acquisition cost. Same bike would fetch circa 25kUSD.
This looks like an ’87 to me, judging by the post ’85 graphics, white faced gages and ’87 dual seat with cowl.
Would not touch anything from the seller of this bike…
SteveO could you elaborate?
Have been burnt by this seller, tells a few porky pies!
Yup…Many have…
