Just in time for Cyber Monday is this brand new Suzuki RG500! The seller states it’s never had gas in it, never been fired, and never had the delivery prep done either. It’s a classified listing on eBay for about the equivalent of $50k USD and he’s willing to ship worldwide. Internet buzz is already suggesting the price is too high but as they say, if you can find a nicer one for less…

Dagum!
WoW! Probably 50K if you are in the1% income bracket..I mean who cares……I would must have has the GSX-R 750R with 545 miles on it a few months ago for $23K. Besides that I have 4K Walter Wolf, I bought for a shade or 15% of the asking price. I have notice that some of these over priced bikes, turn out to be just cheap advertising for business purposes They never are really sold or just shill bidded up for the same reason, and relisted on a regular basis during the year.
Hey guys, I wonder where this bike is situated in Australia. I’d love to go check this out . Does any one in this forum think this is a realistic or fair price assuming what the seller says is true?
I personally think it’s too high but I’m just not sure.
Nice bike ! In all fairness it is a brand new bike . And really where are you going to find a brand new RG500 again ….probably nowhere . So whatever someone is truly willing to pay for it will dictate the market . I hope he gets his 50 K . Good luck to the seller and to the future buyer .
Meanwhile, wouldn’t the seals all be dried out and the bike would therefore need thousands of dollars spent on a complete rebuild to make it road-worthy? If so, that 50K is only viable for anybody who wouldn’t ever actually want to ride the bike.
I bought bikes over the years in crates and or with zero miles. High end collectors will pay big money for zero mile brand new bikes that don’t show any signs of aging. Trane Francks, You would be a fool to put a bike like this with zero miles on the road, your investment would never be recovered if you did so. Mechanical concerns are not what you would be worried about in this case. Put it behind the desk in your office or in your living room and enjoy the idea that this may be the only one left in new condition in the world 🙂 I’m just glad I don’t collect RG 500’s or christmas might look a little bleak this year for the wife and kids. lol
I agree that the investment would never be recovered. That said, I would never buy anything to have it just sit there. If I were to buy a bike, it would be ridden.
It’s a different world than most of us live in who could/would justify such a purchase to put behind there desk or display in their living room. But the fact remains there are enthusiasts who do and can and will.
Hi tranie,
Completely understand but different strokes for different folks. I prefer a real woman where some prefer a “flesh light” or a blow up doll. Each to their own.
It’s lime saying if you loved basket ball why would someone pay top dlar for a signed Michael Jordan bball if you owed it you would shoot hoops with it.
I would not ride it, worth too much, would be a good investment if bought at a good price, I dont think it will ever be worth 55K though. If you want to ride a gamma, buy a used one and restore it to new condition. That will cost a lot less and you can enjoy riding it.
I have never heard of seals going bad on the rg500 cranks. Even with sitting, I would bet they are fine. All my gammas have the original seals and all run perfect!
beautiful bike, but bikes were built to be ridden. I rode my Gamma 150 miles yesterday and still think its the best bike ever built. Certainly the most fun!
It’s Xmas time again…. I say good luck to the seller and buyer. If you’ve got it flaunt it. :o)
I ride RG500 WW and it is a great 2-stroke bike ever built by Suzuki. 55K is too expensive to buy for a Gamma, though it is new, but good luck to the seller and future buyer. I’d rather buy a used Desmosedici RR 🙂
The Demsosidici is the biggest POS ever produced. I know from first hand experience.
Rich is not the man who can afford a $55,000 RG500…rich is the man who can afford to CRASH a $55,000 RG500.
good luck to the seller… at that price he’s gonna need it
I’m sorry Jeff, what does POS mean?
“I’m sorry Jeff, what does POS mean?”
Piece of (colloquial word for excrement)
I remember this bike for sale years ago, how many are considered NOS? I really like it, I am planning on buying some powerball tickets so I have a chance at it! I bet it cranks right up and runs right!
The bike is located in Victoria, Australia. The bike is real and the owner is not using it as cheap advertising. He purchased the bike some years ago still in the crate and has kept it more or less as a little superannuation. The bike is as you would expect for a brand new machine that has not even had the pre delivery service done. Probably the only real “0 km” RG in existence so good luck to him and with immaculate examples going for 30k over here in Australia then it stands to reason that it is worth every bit of 50K. Remember bikes are only new once !
