Few manufactures have a richer and more diverse history of vehicles than BMW. From their performance cars that are hailed as the ultimate driving experience, to their adventure motorcycles that have traveled to all corners of the globe. They command a loyal following of riders and enthusiasts. Today’s bike is both truly rare, and extremely interesting. The R1100S Boxer Cup Replika should be on the radar or any collector.
Taking the already proven R1100 as a base, the Boxer Cup adds some subtle, but meaningful extras. A splash of carbon here, an upgraded suspension there really make for a package that is greater than the sum of the individual parts. The iconic colorway mean it is never mistaken for anything other than a BMW. The unconventional front end offers a unique riding experience, and a wonderful engineering rabbit hole to go down. The horizontal twin is proudly on display.

From The Seller’s eBay Listing:
BMW has always been known for their extremely reliable and comfortable touring motorcycles. As they were pushing harder in to their sport bikes, the spec series, Boxercup elevated BMW to another level. This example offered here is 1 of 300 Boxer Cup Replika versions produced. A special edition model was the R1100S Sport, which was a standard R1100S fitted with an optional “Sport” pack comprising stiffer suspension via a taller rear monoshock, a steering damper, and a wider rear wheel and tire.
A more expensive track-day version of the BMW R1100S, the BoxerCup Replika (or “BCR”), was available from 2003-2005. The BCR had twin Laser under-seat exhausts, braided brake lines, carbon fiber cylinder head protectors, a carbon fiber oil-catcher bellypan, uprated Öhlins suspension, and a shorter paralever torque arm which raised the rear end to quicken the steering and increase cornering clearance. The BCR came with a standard engine management chip which was changed for a modified chip at the first dealer service. This specific BCR is number 266 of 300.New Swedish Ohlins Shocks were installed April 2023 replacing the BMW OEM shocks making this ride exceptionally smooth with enhanced handling on the curves. New Michelin Pilot tires installed 2022 less than 200 miles since install.Garaged since new, 2 owner bike. I am the second owner since 2018 The bike shows like new!
These Boxer Cup Replika offer a really appealing package with a wide range of use cases. It would be well suited for a small collector or enthusiast that wants something rare and interesting to use. The supplied rear bags mean this could be used as intended and continue to rack up miles exploring the roads. The low production numbers and overall look mean it would also fit in among an established collection of other equally rare machines.
The early 2000s era is very much on the rise, so if you lusted after one of these 20 years ago, now might be the time to add one to your garage. Often overlooked in favor of the HP2, prices normally have remained very reasonable. Most bet that will not last forever.
