1994 Honda CBR900RR for sale on eBay
Now legendary Honda engineer Tadao Baba once had a vision: open class displacement and horsepower in a middleweight motorcycle format. The journey was arduous and fraught with failure, but the assembled team persisted. The result was the 900RR, which – aside from being the most popular motorcycle model on talk like a pirate day – re-ignited the hyperbike wars and created a brand new open class category. Tipping the scales at roughly the same weight as the company’s own CBR600F2 (maybe about a half gallon worth of fuel heavier), the 893cc inline four pushed out 122 ponies, making the RR model king of the middleweights and the most agile big-bore bike on the block. Variants followed as the years went on, including a bump to 919cc (still badged as a 900RR), the 929RR and finally the 954RR. But this is the one that started it all.
From the seller:
1994 Honda CBR900. the legend!!! True survivor with clean title. New tires new brakes new battery. Runs perfectly needs nothing. 8000
There are only a couple of pictures here, but they show a clean example of the white/red/black livery. While seemingly not as popular as the blue/white color scheme (as evidenced by a couple of outliers on BaT), this is a classic look that is much more understated than the garish neon colors such as this 1995 model recently posted on RSBFS. Today’s example does appear to have a pipe, but otherwise looks to be unmolested – right down to the tail section. That is a win for the collector market! Pricing is reasonable at $8k in a Buy It Now format, although the odometer is showing a reported 42,400 miles. These CBR900RR models are surprisingly robust for all of the performance, though, and with typical Honda build quality this should not be a deal breaker. You can check out all of the details on eBay here. Good Luck!!
