This feels like a bike looking for a long-term relationship — the kind of owner who admires British heritage and genuinely appreciates character and craftsmanship. Like many of the machines we feature, this Norton occupies a niche within a niche, and that’s exactly the point.
According to Alastair Bols, “The craftsmanship in this era of the Donington Nortons was fantastic, with modern CNC billet and classical hand-shaped aluminium used throughout. It is a thing of beauty, with all the blacks, greys, and golds around the bike.” That combination of modern precision and old-world technique is a big part of what makes these bikes so compelling.
Biker Kaz offers some insight into the riding experience: “The engine on start-up, combined with the noise of the twin exhaust pipes, can only be described as sublime. The shiver goes all the way up your back, the grin spreads across your face, and a little chuckle escapes. I honestly never tired of hearing the bike on start-up.” That kind of reaction tells you everything you need to know about the emotional appeal here.
This isn’t a mainstream collectible. But then again, is anything we feature ever truly mainstream? Food for thought.
If you’re craving some fish ’n chips, or have an anglophile friend in your life, this Norton is worth a closer look.
Good luck to both buyer and seller.

I had big hopes this would make it to regular production. This was the bike I was always hoping they would build. This one being such low production and entirely hand built will guarantee a small crowd wherever it goes. Should be right at home with the Guzzi, BMW, Benelli and Laverda folks.
Very sadly for the punters who dreamed of “new” Norton Commandos the company changed hands several times ending up in the paws of a delinquent shark who both destroyed the value of the company and any chance of serious production resuming.
He failed very publicly and departed in scandal via court, Norton is now the property of a large Indian company who have invested plenty of money but may well go the route of electric joy(cue wailing and gnashing of teeth)
Picture the fun to be had trying to source parts for this particular handsome beast if you are brave enough to rack up the miles with it.
