RSBFS
The last time RSBFS posted a Ducati 748 (not the S or R) was in 2014. Dan found one with only 60 miles for $6,200. Apparently the seller got so many calls and so many questions he pulled the ad in a fit of frustration, and then joined the conversation here on RSBFS.
Not sure if it ever sold, but it was fun to read the comments. The seller was being questioned as to why he put 60 miles on the bike? Why not either keep it at zero for future value, or really ride it? The owner said he just couldn’t control himself when he took it out of the crate to sell. He did not want to let it go, but his wife was insisting he sell it as he owned too many bikes. This whole text chain seemed like a view into humanity.
Here we are ten years later. We have a nice bike with 17,600 miles for $5,899. No dents or blemishes can be seen from the photos. I wonder if the seller from 2014 actually rode the bike and then sold it to this guy? That would seem like a happy ending to the 2014 short story.
Either way, good luck to the buyer and seller!
