1997 BIMOTA SB6R: Daily Rider?
It isn’t illegal to do that, is it? We’ve had an absolute run of Bimotas lately here on RSBFS. This one seems to be a little different. It has a few miles under its’ belt and it has the scars on it to prove it. What I’m getting at is that maybe there is a deal to be had here. If you could score a decent price on this bike you could then ride in confidence knowing you weren’t ruining a museum piece or tossing the savings account you just spent down the road.
Now the seller states the bike has never been down. I’m just putting two and two together here. Cracked right lower, scrape on right front upper, scratches on right side of tank. My guess is it had a very low speed incident of some sort on the right side. Hopefully all that equals a low reserve.
From the auction:
RARE 1997 BIMOTA SB6R , RUNS EXCELLENT 11K MILES SINCE NEW ,CLEAN TITLE , MINOR SCRATCHES ,AND SMALL CRACK IN LOWER FAIRING ,EVERYTHING WORKS ,NEW BATTERY ,GREAT RIDER ,FAST AND NIMBLE ,NOT A MUSEUM PIECE ,SUPER LOW RESERVE !! BID TO WIN AND SAVE A TON OF DOUGH ! WE AT BUYERS EXPENSE CAN SHIP WORLDWIDE,BIKE HAS NEVER BEEN CRASHED OR LAID DOWN
We won’t know if this is just a mirage of a deal or the real thing until the reserve is met. Would a decent deal be around $8,000 to $9,000? I’ve seen a couple of comparable bikes in excellent condition listed around $10,500. Bimota’s are rare and catching a good deal on one is even more rare. If you are up for taking a shot at finding the reserve .

It isn’t even worthy of a museum piece in mint condition, it is sinmply a Suzuki. Now if we were talking about a KB or a Tesi then you have my attention.

The SB6R isn’t one of the prettiest Bimotas, but going by your logic, isn’t a KB “simply” a Kawasaki as well?
Have to agree with you on the Tesi though.
