Craigslist Quickie on the East Coast to kick off the weekend
1989 Honda Hawk
$3,600
7,287 miles
Doug reviewed a blue 1989 Hawk on RSBFS praising it for what it’s got, “torque, low weight and a 5 speed.”
While Russell D. commented, “I love my track Hawk and street Hawk alike. On the track, they turn in and hold corner speed better than newer, more powerful bikes. Super easy to maintain, most parts still available. Recommended.”

RSBFS
Great bike with a cult following, low miles and some totally 80’s pin-striping.
Tad reviewed one of these on RSBFS back in 2018 that sold to one of our readers. Asking price was $3,800 and Tad states, “Of course, the general quality, nimble handling, and solid engineering meant that, although quickly forgotten by most, the Hawk GT has become something of a cult bike. Commuter, budget race bike, weekend canyon scratcher: simple modifications can give the bike focus it didn’t really have from the factory, and a Hawk can be all things for those of limited means, since prices have remained relatively low, in spite of the bike’s relative rarity.”
Seems like a deal.
Rider Magazine did a retrospective of this in 2006, if you are interested in the history and performance.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
