With all the activity surrounding the recent Skoal/Lance Gamma RG500, we almost missed this offering in Canada. Though thin on details, it does note an engine rebuild within the last 300 miles and some mechanical reconditioning. While more investigation is required, it has met reserve with one bid for $14,500. Happy hunting,

1986 Suzuki RG500 for sale on eBay
from the seller:
All original 1986 Suzuki RG500. Very rare and exceptional condition. Bodywork is all original, as is tank. Other than bodywork, frame and swingarm, all parts were stripped and rebuilt. Engine rebuilt. Runs and rides like it did in 1986. Selling to move on to Superbike racing. Canadian bike. 30000 Km (18000 miles).
If this example checks out under inspection and seems as good as it looks, I’d rather have it than that Lance Gamma. And have $20,000 left over!
Or the seller could add the LG air filters and tack $10,000 to the asking price 🙂
The comments on that Skoal RG made for some interesting reading while it lasted. I see its relisted with a B.I.N. of $34K,
The power of the RSBFS site has managed to burst the over-inflated RG500 market from the comments of one single listing.
….and on the seventh day,RSBFS looked at what it had created, and it was good!!
The whole thing seems fishy. It’s back up with a buy it now of $34,000.00, but he had a high bid of $34,950.00. Calling BS on another LG bike.
Blue RG 500 auction ended early with a high bid
of $ 15,000 . 2 bids , total
The Skoal Gamma is now back to $15,100 after the high bid of $30,999 was retracted 24-Nov-14 11:31:29 EST.
This continues to be a bizarre auction and one would expect that bidder confidence in the legitimacy of the bike is quickly fading. It doesn’t matter who has their name attached to it if the bidding is ridiculous and the seller feedback is low.
$34K is still a lot of money for SV650 wheels.

Chris….the blue bike in NS is interesting as well. 2 bids and both went nowhere. Don’t know if it was just to get out of paying eBay or the sale actually fell apart.

……and so it came to pass..across all the lands.that the myth of the RG500 was smote, and it was therefore only ridden by the TYGA wank- boys, and true men moved onward to more sensible iron horses,at a fair and equitable price.
Dammmn …………………
So what’s my 1977 TZ 750 worth ? :o)
…..shitloads,the problem is all these impoverished “experts” want to drive the value of your steed thru the floor so they swipe it off you and jack the price back up again.
“true men” you’re trying awfully hard on the internet…
What’s your TZ worth? As much as the buyer will pay. Not a penny more.
If you can find a buyer willing to pay $70,000 then more power to you – but more than likely you wouldn’t get any bites at more than $35K – unless it was an historically significant chassis number 😉

Pretty much knew that, and it was a rhetorical question. 2 stroke market has been bat$hit crazy.
I sold 3 RG 500′ s a few years ago at $ 10,000 to 12,000 each that I had bought for $ 4000 to 6000.
a few years before that . I see them, now, for $ 15,000 to 20,000 , now . >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
