This 1992 Yamaha FZR600 is one of a limited number of Vance & Hines Edition units produced, and this example was shipped new to the selling dealer who kept it on static display in the dealership showroom. All bikes in the Vance & Hines Edition were finished in a yellow, magenta, and black racing-style livery and equipped with a 599cc DOHC inline-four and a six-speed transmission. Additional features include a full fairing, a rider seat, a passenger pillion, triple disc brakes, three-spoke alloy wheels, a Deltabox frame, and a four-into-one exhaust system. This FZR600 shows 1 mile and is offered with an owner’s manual, a tool kit, a battery, a warranty registration card, keys, and a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin.
The decal on the fuel tank indicates this bike is #518 of the production run.
Details from the owner: When this bike came into our dealership back in 1992 I (owner) was immediately awestruck by the vibrant colors and overall appearance of this bike. The bike was the centerpiece of our showroom display for a short time until it was decided I was going to keep it for myself at which time it was moved to a back room with the rest of my private collection. The V&H exhaust system was shipped to us in a separate box for us to install upon arrival, but it was damaged during transit and returned with the expectation that a replacement system would be shipped, but that never happened. Due to the limited production run of the pipe a replacement was not available, and a small credit was issued to us instead, thus the factory installed system. Bike has .9 actual factory miles on it, and has never been fueled nor have we ever attempted to start it. The time has come for me to start thinning out my collection, so I am offering up this FZR600 V&H #518 of only 636 made and sold at a reasonable price so they can enjoy it as I did for many years.

Last March one of these with 17,000 miles sold on BaT for $4,500. That goes to show you what low-low-crazy-low miles will do for the bidding. There are two days left and we are already at $8,000.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
So many 400’s were fitted with a 600 motor and raced with the aluminum frame. Pipes?? Kerker turndown tip for looks or D & D for racing.
We had one of these at the dealership I worked at back in the day. I loved the way it looked like AMA race team bikes. Even though it really wasn’t one of the ones they raced.
This predates the Erion Racing and Repsol replicas Honda sold decade later.
A neat time capsul.
Making it even more rare is that fzr1000 style single headlamp that yamaha only put on the 600 this one single year. I think it is a rare and fitting use of parts bin uniqueness. It wasn’t an intentiinal design choice. Just happens they did it the only year they deployed that headlamp. What luck. Unlike other repli racers that were strictly sticker graphics treatments anyway. I’m pretty sure I am the only person on the planet that actually prefers the single headlamp. I liked it so much. I put the fairing and headlight on my interceptor 500. Which of course no one approved of. Whatever
sold for 18k….wow
@martin – yup. And another one up today. It’s raining FZR’s
