While it’s not brand new like the 998 Matrix we posted earlier, it’s remarkable that this 87 GSX-R 1100 has only 1100 miles. And man does it show! The pictures speak for themselves and bidders are very active.

HOLY SMOKES !!! I bought one new in ’87, they were $5500, bought it for $4995. I would LOVE to have another one, this bike wheelies on command, makes any street squid a proper wheelie king in a day, no joke!! I put a Vance and Hines on it with a jet kit, shear bliss……
Good find Dan, a little cheaper and I’d just buy it…wow, great memories!
At $8103 and 6 days remaining, I wonder if we’ll actually get to see this one sell. Seems like record setters usually get pulled before the end of the auction but it would great to see where this ends up.
Thanks for the note Jay, appreciate the first hand account from back in the day. Hope all is well,

It’s going to take just over $10,000 to own this example- will it be worth that much to someone? We’ll see…
my 87 gsxr 750 with 620 miles was the one that went for $12,4oo last year.i think this one is going higher! nice bike!
Nice price !! I wish I would have kept mine, I sold it like a year or so later for $4500.
The bike really was revolutionary at the time, nothing really came close to it, hence why my friends and I bought them. Good times…….!
My very first bank loan was for the exact same bike. There was a want list a mile long.Just so happens a new dealership was aquired at the barrington motorworks of illinois. The bike was $5500,they only got 2,a blue and white one which was already sold and the black and red one. I ran to the bank and got $1000.When I got there 3people were trying to by the bike.I put the $1000 in the salesmans hand.He took me upstairs to meet the dealer owner. He looked up my credit,I brought him business income statements and the deal was done.My payments were $163 a month.Twenty-six years later and just under $30000 invested, the bike still sits in my garage.Extended 3 inches, lowered ,10.5 to 1 weisco,match-ported head and cylinder and polished everything, all original plastic and color scheme, what a looker!Took 2nd place at chicago mccormick place supercycle show in 2001.Would like to here comments as to what you guys think its value is.
