A day early for track day Tuesday, but who’s counting?! -dc
The Aprilia RS250 represents one of the last prominent two-stroke motorcycles produced for public road use. In the early 2000s, emissions regulations became stricter, leading to the decline of two-stroke engines in street-legal motorcycles. The RS250 is a relic of that era, cherished by enthusiasts who appreciate the unique characteristics and high-revving nature of two-stroke engines.

Rare Thoughts:
Many of us love two strokes, myself included. The engine of this bike came from Suzuki and the design is all Italian. I have to say, this has my attention.
I searched the RSBFS site to read up on past Aprilia RS250’s and that was quite an education. As Tad wrote in 2018, “The decision-makers at Aprilia must have been fans of Clint Eastwood…” That is enough to keep my interest.
This bike is for the enthusiast that appreciates Italian design and adrenaline. The design and technology are inspired by the Grand Prix racing machines, so it is beautifully fast.
Riding a two-stroke is an experience unlike any other. The simplicity, the immediate power delivery, and the distinctive engine sound create a unique connection between the rider and the machine.
While two-stroke motorcycles have become rarer due to emissions regulations, they have a devoted following among enthusiasts. The Aprilia RS250, being one of the last of its kind, has become a sought-after gem for those who cherish the two-stroke era.
After writing this piece, I really want to ride it.

from the seller:
2000 Aprilia RS 250 with just 928 miles wearing Tyga race body, comes with OEM body. This bike was first out of the crate in 2008, it was never raced or never down. Its clean bike barely broken in. I can take cash, certified cashiers check or wire transfer.
If bike is so clean and unridden then why pics all like 10 feet away and done at dusk with bad lighting? Plus wouldn’t it sell better with the oem parts in place instead.
@SmmokinJoe439 Agree that better photos would be helpful, especially of the factory body work. But with these miles and this price, it still seems worth a look.
I love a 2t trackbikes. So so light. Limited on outright power but wicked acceleration when setup right. You don’t ride them like a 4t. Love clutchless downshifts and how they turn in. I’ll have to simulate the joy with Sumos since these types of bike are out of my budget and they aren’t making any more.
