Pete has been a long time friend of the site and has acquired many of the bikes in his collection from the pages of RSBFS. He was involved in a near death accident with a careless driver and has decided it’s time to offer his collection up to for other enthusiasts to enjoy. Here is a write up from the August Mecum newsletter on his collection starting on page 106.
This first group of bikes is being offered on August 2nd at the Mecum auction in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Lots include: 1983 Suzuki Katana 750, 1983 Kawasaki GPZ 750, 1984 Kawasaki Ninja 900, 1983 Kawasaki 1000R, 1984 Kawasaki CPZ 750, 1982 Honda CB1100R, 1983 Honda CB1100F, 1991 Honda CBR1000F, 1990 Kawasaki ZX-7 750, 1980 Kawasaki KZ1000 Z1-R, 1979 Honda CB750F, and 1984 Honda NS 250R.
We’d like to thank Peter for helping to support RSBFS and our sportbike enthusiast community. Good luck to buyers and seller!
Best of luck Pete!
Ive seen the collection in person, its better than the Barber Museum. His bikes are pristine, the best of the best. Very sorry to hear of the accident but sounds like he is making a strong recovery.
I’m glad to be able to start sharing my passion with everyone else. Hope to meet some of you at the Harrisburg or Monterey Auctions. Come hang out with me and we will watch some extremely rare superbikes go to happy new owners. Thank you Doug for the many years of Rare Sport Bikes for Sale. Had I not stumbled upon your site many years ago I would still have room in my garage! I purchased at least 15 bikes through you site in the last 7 years. It will always be the first thing I look at when I click on the computer. Your site first…then porn 🙂 heheheheh
tmi bro tmi…
Hi Pete, congratulation to your nice collection. You were racing and also buying racing bikes from AMA. Will you have for sale also any 2 stroke GP bikes like RS250, TZ250?
Regards,
John
YEA…I have a few real special smokers. A RS500 triple, RS250 and a ton of gammas,ns,nsr,tz,tzr street bikes. Probably going to keep them for now.
Beautiful bikes, GLWS. I’m always on the lookout for spares for my RS250 NX5 – if you have any you’re willing to sell, just let me know
just out of curiosity, the large pic above shows a Bimota V-Due but the individual pics do not. Then in the auction catalog there is a Bimota VDue for sale, what appears to be a evolutionze model which has the carbs.
Can you advise if the Bimota VDue for sale is yours, and if so whether you bought it as an Evoluzaione model or had it converted after purchased by someone like Bob at Bimota Spirit?
Cheers
Pete , are you the one who collected Nankai factory race leather as well?
no leather…just a shit load of bikes!
Pete! I don’t know you but have drooled over your collection for years, seen or read, or heard about bikes you have picked up through RLM out of Seattle. Good luck with the sales, I have been out of ridding for a few years now because of a bad dirt bike crash but always love to look!
Good luck Sunday Pete.
