It’s “ride like a hooligan” day today, and this little Aprilia RS 50 is the perfect weapon to engage in outrageous activity without fear of tickets or worse. There is nothing more fun than wringing the neck of a bike – getting absolutely everything out of it – and not even breaking the speed limit. Great stuff!
This particular RS 50 appears to be in pretty good shape. As most of the sub 250cc motorcycles are starter bikes for teenagers, they tend to get abused, dropped, ignored and generally poorly treated (don’t ask me how I know, but someday I will restore my old AR50). This RS looks fantastic – and likely was saved from the above named abuses.

2300 milesBike is in very good condition. Runs and shifts excellent, no cracks or dents, a few scuffs under decals, nothing visible. Carbs disassembled and cleaned last summer. Very small oil drip when sits for period of time, not much, but want you to know.
These smaller bikes never really gather a lot of miles – they are not highway/interstate legal and due to the relatively slow top speeds they simply cannot rack up the same yardage as a larger machine. That being said, everything else about them tends to be less expensive than the big bikes – from gas/oil, to wearable items such as tires and chains, to engine rebuilds.
This clean RS 50 is located in the frozen North of Minnesota, and is available right now via auction. The bidding is only at $1,200 with reserve still in place, but the BIN number is a very reasonable $2,695. As we say with these chicken chasers, that is not a lot of scratch! Check out all of the details here, and then leave us a comment on these little buzz bombs. Do you have one in your garage?
