It’s Actually Been Ridden! 1997 Bimota DB2 Final Edition
Stop the RSBFS presses! We have a Bimota that has been ridden more than 100 miles. I’m exaggerating of course but not by much. People love their Bimota art pieces and most keep them locked away in the garage. This DB2 has enough mileage on it where you won’t be afraid to scratch it but not enough that you feel like it’s seen its’ best days.
That mileage would be just over 11,000. Here is the skinny from the seller:
1997 Bimota DB2 Final Edition Silver/Black VIN ZES1DB213VR000006 Final Edition DB2 Number 06. 11026 miles. Recent major service including belts, valves, carbs. Not a closet queen but very nice and a great color combination. If you are looking at this ad you know what it is. Ducati 900SS based hand made exotic. Has original center stand. Taillight lens is cracked (it is Ducati 851), I think I have a source for one. The evaporative canister has been removed. Some glass stress cracks, not broken, the Bimota decal on the fairing has lost a little piece. I can scan a copy of the recent service. No miles since service. Tires are ok. Chain and sprockets were done ~9k miles.
The Edizione Finale (Final Edition to you and me) comes in a more subdued paint than a lot of DB2’s I’ve seen. It truly is a rare bike with just 100 produced. Although I’ve never seen one, some were produced with a half fairing.
I’ve always thought of the DB2 as the average guys Bimota. You know it is a Bimota: it has some carbon fiber, a unique frame and quality components but it doesn’t have quite the sparkle some other Bimota’s have. I guess you could also look at it as a seriously breathed on Ducati 900SS . Either way, it is a nice bike.
I know, it is a boring photo. I included it because the seller was up front with the defects on the bike. He included several shots of chips and the like. Jump over to place a bid.
