Built in the days when World Superbike and AMA Superbike still controlled huge fanbases, and names like Duhamel, Russell, Stevens, Polen and Chandler lined American road racing grids, the 1994 Yamaha YZF750R sought to bring some of the sound and fury to the streets.
1994 Yamaha YZF750R for sale on eBay
The bad news for Yamaha, of course, was that they found little success in either championship when compared to their rivals, settling instead for a smattering of wins at the Suzuka 8-hour during the YZF’s production run. The exception was 1991, when Thomas Stevens snagged the AMA championship aboard an OW-01.
This YZF isn’t exactly low mileage, but it does not appear to have been abused, and has clean, original fairings, albeit with some scratches and cracking. It comes with one OEM replacement side panel, and is wearing new tires and brake pads after a recent service. With 120 or so horses in a 500-lb frame, the bike should acquit itself well even today.

Yamahas Street legal Full on Race bike of the era, Won World Super Bike Races and more.

There are just over three days left in the auction, and bidding is still south of $3,000. The championships may not have come easy for the YZF750, but it is still a beautiful machine, especially in this shape.
Had one, loved it, raced it, bulletproof and never had a problem with it. Put a Vance and Hines SS2R full race system on it. Insanely loud even for a race bike.
Forgot about that 90’s colour scheme with the wheels as well!
Regret selling mine,1997 YZF750R.
Hang on a minute… The YZF750 had more that a “smattering of wins..at Suzuka.” Think of the guys that raced this bike: Jamie James, Scott Russell, Eddie Lawson, Colin Edwards, Norijuki Haga and Yasutomo Nagai (sadly, killed racing it in 1995).
Edwards and Haga won the Suzuka event in 1996.
1998 was a big year for the YZF. Scott Russell won the Daytona 200. And, Haga won 5 WSB races securing Yamaha 3rd place in the Manufacturer’s Championship.
Great bikes, great riders and an amazing series. Those were the days.
I have a 97. Amazing handlling machines. Love that thick deltabox frame too!
Wild you ever entertain selling yours?
