If you’ve been waiting for a classic GSX-R rider that also looks stunning in it’s corner of the garage, take a look at this 1100. It has some cosmetic flaws on the swingarm and lower plastics, but overall it’s very solid as a bike to enjoy and maybe restore in the future. It has some period aftermarket pieces but the important stock bits remain. At just $4650 buy-it-now, it’s a great grin-to-dollar value to boot. Act quickly as this one has a day or so remaining! Hat tip to Marty for the link 😉

1987 Suzuki GSX-R 1100 for sale on eBay
from the seller:
Here it is the last GSXR out of a private collection. Bike runs fabulous! This motorcycle has full KERKER exhaust and Mikuni flat slides as well as the K&N air filters but that is as far as the mods go so she is completely reliable This motorcycle shifts stops and drivees like a new bike!!. Bike is current on all maintenance! all she needs is a good home. bike has some wear and tear, But not at all bad for a 27 year old bike as per all the photos I have taken. bike has never been wrecked but has the stress cracks that are known to these year GIXXER,s this bike is a classic and is in better condition than any I have seen out and about. All body work is original no bondo or epoxy. bike comes with clear title, service manual, dealer manual. tires are in good condition as well please feel free to ask any questions or concerns you may have.REAR STAND NOT INCLUDED.For a 27 year old motorcycle this GSXR is in EXCELLECT overall condition. The bike is not a perfect museum showpiece with absolutely no flaws whatsoever; it is however a VERY, VERY, VERY nice, solid, stock GSXR that runs great and turns heads.
Very nice bike…. you don’t see them that clean everyday… or month for that matter!
put the stock exhaust, air clean and windscreen back on it and it looks like it would be back to 100% original
Love kickin’ it old school Superbike ! Bikes like these caused that evil senator Danforth to pass those nasty anti-Superbike bills back in the day….remember ? Too funny as we now have 200 HP streetbikes that are cruisers …ie. the new V-Max …….
Anyways I love to see a great survivor even if it’s a Suzuki ! 🙂 Period correct Kerker pipe….bet it sounds sick !
k3: and don’t forget that you’ll have to find a set of stock carburetors- this example has Mikuni flatslides. In my opinion they detract from the collector value and of this nice survivor. A friend had those carbs on his GSXR1100, and I know the positives and negatives well. Those would be dodgy low end and midrange that was noticeably worse than stock, then a huge top end gain after 6K rpm- that was the whole point. Those carbs only made sense at wide open throttle, and nowhere else. You can spend endless time re-jetting with them with that open airbox and never get it to carburete smoothly like a stock GSXR. The other big negative is the throttle pull friction/sticking- it’s there all the time, it never goes away, and lessens riding enjoyment. Sure would be great if the seller had the airbox assembly and stock carbs in a box to go with it. That said, I like this bike. It seems like a decent value and would make a good rider that you wouldn’t have to worry about putting miles on or scratching.
This bike has been for sale in the recent past. I don’t recall where I saw it, but I remember the beat up left fairings. It always amazes me how a person can see this bike as a “very, very, very nice stock solid GSXR”, when it is a decent and somewhat original bike with 25k miles. I can’t imagine it selling for any more than $3500. This is just my opinion. No mail bombs please.
Wonder if that speedo would fit a RG500, always wanted a MPH speedo.
Is this bike still for sale? I had one back in the day and would love to have another. My initial GSXR had a timing advance, and a Vance and Hines pipe. Man O’ Man would I love to have this bike again.
It is still for sale. You can click the orange link above to see the relisted eBay auction. $4350!
