It seems as the RD350s are having a second life among enthusiats all aorund the world. The seller of this excellent sample found in Germany, actually has four of them. He mentions that highest bidder will get to choose which model he brings home from the 4.
The one pictured here would do for me.It is in beautiful conditions and with a BIN set at 2500 EUR, this is a no brainer, honestly! I mean, what are you waiting for. This is one of the most versatile and exciting 2 strokes ever made. It looks cool too. And that sound…mmmhh.
Spares are easy to find, it is a 2 stroke but it is not a race 2 strokes. You can comfortably cruise around and when you want to go a bit faster, just keep the needle on the right side pinned anywhere between 7000 and 8000 rpm. That is the sweet spot for an original 31k model. This bike won’t scare you for power, but the super light weight combined with those wishy-washy stock suspension, will make the ride an exciting experience.
I love it. It’s loud enough with the stock catalytic mufflers, fast enough, comfortable enough, rare enough, good looking enough, cheap enough, reliable enough (as long as you keep it stock), it is…everything enough ! it won’t even take much space in your garage, so don’t use that excuse.
This bike had recently new increased volume cylinders and new pistons fitted. The handlebar doesn’t look original like a few other small bits, but what the heck, this bike is made to be ridden more than looked at.
And here’s a video of this actual bike, for you to appreciated the sharp sound indicating a healthy engine condition:
